She is not worth her own thread, this was enough wasted time - but I thought this should be brought to attention since PlainJain likes to call names and participate in pile-ons.

This is an example of the kind of garbage I write when I get loaded. After writing the quote below, to then make fun of myself for what I had done, sent a private message to my friend (SWB) telling her that I needed to quit drinking and this a good example of why - wasting time building someone up who is the kind of person that likes to put people down. Someone who is a phoney.

Anyways, here’s what I wrote because I was drunk. Did not want to admit at the time for the reason that the particular thread about giving up booze. What a load of crap!

I know I have given you hassles in the past but have come to respect you as the quality poster you are. Kudos to you for staying off the alcohol. I myself quit for 2 yrs but that was a couple yrs ago. I know what it took for me to quit that long, wasn’t easy to be consistent.

I had previously hassled Ms. Jain for her bogus pics, did so when she was attempting to pile-on one of my friends. From the context of her posts in that particular thread, felt that she needed to be called out. You may like ms. Plain but she is a phoney.

I looked at both. The official photographer’s picture was labeled as being part of what seems to be a picture-a-day project, and was posted last year. PlainJain’s photo is described as having been taken seven or eight years ago. This makes me go :dubious:.

Honestly, I don’t get why people are sending in anything but real photos of themselves. The whole point of this is to be a collection of actual photos of actual members; if you don’t have a photo of yourself you like, what’s so damned hard about just not sending anything?

It’s been over a month and the picture is still there. Does Anna need to contact you again to have you remove the copyrighted photo? She said she emailed you once already.

Ms Plainjain took that from Anna’s Flickr page but I doubt she owns up to it. I looked at her email address on her contact page here and she has her own Flickr account with a picture of another girl she says is her and that is a copyrighted picture too.

Please remove Anna’s picture from your gallery posthaste.

I’ll gladly owe up to it. As a graphic artistic I have thousands of images I have collected for reference etc. I can assure you the pic that was uploaded was done so by mistake. As soon as I was aware of it I wrote Arnold Winkelried and asked him to make the change to a photo of myself that I submitted. It never happened.

I have never knowingly used a pic without permission and I extend my apologies to Anna. The over-reaction to this is quite surprising. The nasty names I have been called in PMs is depressing. I’ve deleted the link I’ve sent to AW so I can take a pic holding a newspaper or something to prove I’m who I am, but sheesh peeps chill a little. Mistakes happen.

I’m sorry, but I do not believe you. Your email address on your profile shows your real email address which connects one with your real flicker account. Until today you had a picture that you claimed was you that was also a copyrighted picture. Now that picture has now been conveniently deleted. You said it was emo you and it was of a 20 something girl with a hello kitty doll. It has been used on hundreds of websites.

I think you wanted people to believe you were Anna so you used her picture. You removed her initials from the picture. If you really saved her picture for some reason and labeled it wrong why would you remove her initials?

This is the picture you had on your flickr account and have now deleted. You had it labeled as a picture of you in your emo mood. I found the picture using Bing.

Uploading the wrong photo, sure, I can see that. Whoops, accidentally selected Picture0011 instead of Picture0012. You accidentally provided a photo of a girl holding a fancy-looking camera with the caption stating that you took it during your photographer phase, too? Also, you said you have different hair as well, which doesn’t say much, but does at least say that you then, and the girl in the photo that you accidentally uploaded, have hair dissimilar to the way you wear it now.

That is your prerogative. And I’m not interested in explaining it to you in any more detail after this post. I did not get that photo from her site. If memory serves me correctly, I got it from a site of collected self-portraits. I can certainly assure you I did not alter it in any way including deleting any names or initials. I have no reason to - pics in my morgue file are for reference only and it’s quite a common practice for graphic artist. I’m sure there are literally thousands of sites where that pic now resides.

The other pic you speak of was titled “EMO me” where I found it. I sometimes use that Flicker account to point clients to examples of graphics examples for clarity. Calling me a liar without knowing me or how I conduct my personal and professional affairs or without knowing the details of how this happened is bad form. As I explained, this mistake resulted from JPGs with similar file names.

The email I sent to AW (weeks ago) was the one listed in his profile.

[temporary hijack] Concerning the bogus PlainJain pic, she has even written a caption to represent the stolen pic. When called out here in this thread, she has denied stealing the pic adamantly and insists that she sent in the wrong pic by mistake. But she can’t explain the caption she wrote because clearly this was no accident

This is definitely grounds for a pitting. I would do it myself, don’t usually participate in that forum. However, I have no experience at it and I figure by the time I got it organized, Arnold W. will have amended the evidence.

It’s people like this though who give the internet a bad name, and the SDMB should call out blantant phonies like this whenever they are discovered, we don’t need 'em here. [/thj]

PlainJain, one of too many here who get off on pile-ons, had her picture added to the gallery back in December of the previous yr, as can be seen here

Not only was the picture up for over four months, and strangely enough, she never cked the gallery to see the pic. Does that make sense to anyone? In fact, Jain wasn’t the one to discover her pic was fake, it was someone who discovered our message board, joined the board, exclusively to address the copyrighted pic.

Not only that, but the picture of the attractive blonde woman who was not PlainJain, was pointing a camera pointed at a mirror, with the caption that ms. Plain wrote supported the pic, mentioning that the pic was taken during her "photography phase.

Also, does it make sense that if someone simply and by accident sent the wrong pic, and upon discovering the mistake, wouldn’t then go ahead and send the original pic - the one that they intended?
