As a newcomer to this particular forum but who administers message boards elsewhere, may I just say to everyone who’s not a forum staffer that posting little scolding messages to people who don’t follow forum etiquette from the moment they arrive here is not helpful? It seems like some people fall all over themselves to be the first to tell someone that they posted to the wrong board or didn’t post a link or didn’t do whatever other little thing is deemed proper by them. As this happened to me with my first post, I can assure you that the board moderator was very good about letting me know about board protocol. It’s also boring to wade through posts which serve no purpose but to tell someone else they screwed up (without even referring the “offender” to a FAQ or other resource). The next time you’re poised to rip out some newbie’s heart and show it to them before they die because they posted someplace you think they shouldn’t have, try relaxing and letting the people who are supposed to do this stuff do it.
