Some good thoughts please.

The difference being?

Sending good thoughts your way! I had one episode of bright red bleeding when I was 22 weeks pregnant with MiniWhatsit, and it was one of the scariest moments of my life.

Hang in there, miniIrish!

How are you doing, irishgirl?

Yeah, you doing ok?

I just saw this thread.

Sending more sticky thoughts your way, irishgirl. Good luck, and hang in there!

Fresh blood is bright red and is a sign of active bleeding whereas brown blood is old blood that is just finding its way out. Generally speaking, bright red blood is considered an emergency during pregnancy as it is often the first sign of miscarriage.

ETA: I had episodes of brownish blood and bright red blood thoughout my 2nd pregnancy. I was worried sick the whole time but my baby came out perfect.

Positive thoughts heading your way…
When I was pregnant, with my one and only, I had what I thought was my period that first month. I even took a bunch of midol, because I was cramping so bad. Then a few days later, I realized that I never really had a full blown period, and peed on a few sticks. I was pretty shocked to find that I was pregnant, at last! We had been trying a few years.
I hear you about all the fears. Not only did I take all those midol, I had been on some blood pressure medicine that wasn’t not recommended for pregnant or nursing women. I didn’t find that out until month 2! UGH. I worried all the time.
My boy just turned 5.
So I guess the first month or so can be pretty confusing, and you don’t always know or “feel” pregnant right away.

Would this be your first?

Those and other positive thoughts heading your way.

My sister-in-law had bouts of bleeding. My niece will be two this week.

Relax, and remember to have himself peel those grapes for you!

Thought so- just wanted to be sure, as my wife had just told me about some brown blood. She’s about a month along. Thanks!

I sure hope she’s ok!

I’m good thanks- was away seeing my sister for the weekend.
The spotting (it was brown/pink, never bright red) has settled down.
My sister worked out I’m pregnant- the naps, non-drinking and (for me) unusual desire to eat breakast and drink herbal tea instead of just grabbing a coffee before flying out the door were apparently dead giveaways.

I took one of the digital pregnancy tests least week- the one that uses beta HCG levels to “guesstimate” date of conception…last Monday it said “1-2 weeks”. Today, for re-assurrance, and because I’m nosy like that, I took the other test in the packet, it says “3+ weeks”. Things look like they’re on the right track- judging by a test that claims to be 92% accurate.

Hopefully the little bean stays put and isn’t “camera shy” on Wednesday.
I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

My parents saw each other only for one weekend, out of a period of three months. Three weeks after that weekend, they went on vacation and guests at the hotel (most of them of their parents’ generation) were congratulating them on the upcoming baby, then laughing their asses off when my parents said it couldn’t be, they’d been told Mom was sterile. Yeah, for some reason all those folks trusted “green face at breakfast, can’t stand the sight of eggs” more than they trusted some doc

May your little baby not be any worse off than this impossible one!

Irishgirl, there is an Irish bulletin board forum dedicated speifically to pregnancy on boards.ie - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1092
They might have more people who know what you are going to.

The timing and the brown / pink color sure does sound like implantation. I had the same thing with both of my pregnancies, in fact I had mild bleeding a few other times as well and everything was just fine with both of them. I remember how worried I was the first time it happened though! Early bleeding seems to be pretty common, some women miss the fact they are pregnant for the first month or so because they mistake it for a period.

Congrats to you! (and Great Dave too!) That makes it sound like it is your baby together, but I am aware it is not…you all know what I mean.

ok…update.

Scan today- possible tiny intrauterine sac, too early to see anything else.
Got a beta HCG level done as well, I have to ring tonight for the result.

High- good sign, just wait and see, another scan in a week or two.
Medium- possible ectopic, another blood test in two days.
Low- miscarriage or possible ectopic, another blood test in 2 days.
Will let you all know how it goes.

I am hoping you hear High. Best Luck to you.

Thinking lofty thoughts for you, irishgirl.

Sending Sticky thoughts!

Ok, we got option 4.
Very high- probable ectopic because they couldn’t see much on the scan.
Had to leave work and get a repeat scan- still a tiny sac, they think it might be a pseudosac. We’re now playing a waiting game- back on Friday for another set of bloods and a scan.

If the levels double- everything is good and we can relax.
If the levels don’t double and the scan hasn’t changed- ectopic, striaght into surgery.

Means I had to tell people at work quite a bit earlier than I had planned.

Just going to chill out and try not to think about it.
