Also quit being a drama queen. I replaced my windshield for 150. Your insurance will cover everything over 100.
Also find out if there was a lawn crew there that morning. I had my window destroyed from a flying rock. The crew went to the management and informed them. Management later got ahold of me to let me know. The company paid for the replacement.

The police told my sister that she probably didn’t notice that it happened at work and drove home with the rear window shattered and glass all over her seats. Apparently somebody breaking it while parked at home was inconceivable to that cop. Wait he didn’t want to file a report either. She told the insurance company the police response and the agent called them up to chew them out for not taking a report because it probably happened somewhere else.

I was at a bar one night. A really rough joint. A really rough late-night joint. We’re all having a good time when some guy comes running in saying there’s a crazy guy on the roof with a bat yelling “come on, muthafuckahs!”
I go outside to check it out, and I notice that nearly every car in the lot had a smashed windshield…including my dad’s car.
I drove it home and had to explain to my dad about the lovely place I was at, the lovely gentleman who rearranged the windshield for him, and such.
I believe we just had to cover the deductible. It still sucked the big one.
Not necessarily. My car insurance has a $1000 deductible.
And I don’t have comprehensive coverage (not worth it for a 1994 Dodge Dakota.) I recently replaced my windshield for nearly two bills out-of-pocket and believe me, that hurt. I feel for you, Otto.
Glass coverage is a buck a month for me. Well worth it. Everyone reading this thread may want to call and see if they can add it.

The first few glass repair places I called wanted $700-800 just for the replacement glass.
I eventually got mine fixed by calling junkyards. It took me a while to find one that was cheap; finally found one in Maryland (I live in Virginia) that sold me a used-but-good rear windshield for $75 and installed it for another $75. The only other cost was taking leave time to drive over there during business hours. Still it beat the heck out of $800 just for glass.

I’ve done a little bit of poking around online and I’m getting quotes in the $300-$350 range, which as near as I can tell includes installation. But it may be more because of the defogger, which I refuse to be without in Wisconsin.
Did you witness the act? Assuming that you didn’t, you’re merely presuming that the broken windshield was the result of vandalism, and not a passing vehicle kicking up a stone, or some other event which was free of malicious intent.
