Pot smokers age two to one
I’m 116?!
But well preserved.
This appears to be a rant about white women who didn’t hold jobs and always had a lot of money. I imagine such a subset would tend to have odd ideas about the world and not shy about saying things about them. However, that are lots of subsets of humans that have odd ideas due to how they have lived their lives - old white women do not have a corner on this market.
While I’m not sure that the OP’s correlation/causation between these elderly white women and their motives for racism is correct, there is, indeed, a significant element of racism among some white Caucasian feminist women - that is for sure indeed.
My mom was born in 1928. Of course she could say, “things were different when I was young” but that was never an excuse to be an ignorant bigot. She was totally hip to equal rights, civil rights and except for some religious objections, she was hip to gay rights too.
Anyone in their 50’s (as I am now) using “things were different when I was young” to excuse their ignorant conservative bigotry is full of shit. No excuse for that. Just admit you’re a conservative bigot, always have been, always will be.
Its one of the reasons I dislike the word racist. I think calling a racist a racist is a fine thing - but it sounds like your friend suffers from “stereotyping” and “inherent bias” and “being ill informed” and “not having broad personal experience” and “living in the past.” And we are all guilty, in our own ways, of those sins. But racist is a strong thing to call someone when they have those attributes and then insert their foot into their mouth. Racists are people I don’t want to be friends with - I have lots of friends with inherent bias who make ill informed statements - sometimes about old white women.
And middle and upper class second wave feminists were working for something other than what lesbian feminists or feminists of color were working for. Second wave middle/upper class feminists were the women fighting to hold seats in Congress, fighting for the equal pay act, for paid maternity leave, for the right to have your own credit, to hold a job after pregnancy, access to birth control, to become respected doctors and lawyers and business people (without having to put up with the shit RBG did) - some of those battles they won, some they got lip service for, a few they lost - and a few are ongoing cultural transformations. These women are not universally liberal. They are not natural allies to working class minority men - the issues of the two groups are really very far apart. There wasn’t one huge counterculture movement of the 1960s where civil rights and feminism and free love and union activism and AIM all got together as one big happy family. And a lot of those groups had some bickering between them - there was only going to be so many wins, and someone would get thrown under the bus from time to time for another group to get their win - there is some bad blood.
(One of my lesbian women’s studies professors disliked gay men - because when she started working with the gay rights movement - way back in the early 70s - the gay men talked and made decisions, and the lesbians were supposed to keep the coffee cups full and were supposed to bring snacks. Apparently the lesbians walked out - and it took the AIDS epidemic for many of them to come back to that movement. They weren’t well loved by the mainstream feminists either - butch women were scary - and women wanted a softer face to feminism)
What’s wrong with being racy?
As there is an element among all women whatever their race or creed. Generalities are always wrong (including this one. I do love a nice paradox.)
Maybe they’re bitter because you didn’t even call in the morning.
I also have no information on foot fetishism in the elderly.
You’ve got to remember that these are just simple old women. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know… morons.
That’s what I say. 58 is only middle aged if you’re planning to live until you’re 116. Anything over 50 is old, and that’s pushing it for most people.
Can you give an example? I’m in training.
What a load of bullshit! In my experience (and I’ve had more than you, being old and all), it’s the young people with children to raise who live in the suburbs.
It may come as a shock to you, but I’m going to let you in on a secret.
Promise you won’t tell, 'k?
Promise?
Most women value themselves for things besides their looks.
I know! You’d better sit down and take it easy.
Do I miss my alabaster skin? Of course. Knees that moved silently and smoothly were pretty cool, too. I wore high heels without even thinking about it. The chin hair gets plucked. The makeup has been toned down. I started going gray early so now I just rock it. Silver is in. I have macular degeneration so I also sport me some Roy Orbison glasses. And I make them look GOOD, little boy.
My hearing isn’t what it used to be, but that’s due to my mispent youth.

And let me tell you I had a good time doing it.
Maybe you’re buying to that feeble image portrayed on TV that shows a bunch of postmenopausal white women floating around in pastel floaty garments, pottering in the garden, and painting pictures. Sitting in their easy chairs waiting for their grandchildren to send them a Hallmark card while the Geritol kicks in. Oh, hell no. I didn’t spend the 80’s figuring out the right combination of Elmers glue and shaving cream that would make hair stand up straight so that I could fade gently away when I turned 50 or 60 or whatever age you consider old. Back before Manic Panic could be bought in the damned Wal-Mart, we had a little Jello and KoolAid formula that gave you great pink hair. For one night before it sort of faded away. At exactly what point in time do you expect a woman to make this change from Person Who Can Think on Her Own to Helpless Imbecile Who Relies on Some Guy to Figure it All Out?
Sounds like you got your widdle feewwings hurt. Aw. Maybe if you’re constantly running into bitchy old white women, you need to ask yourself what you’re doing to make all these women so pissed off. Are you being a condescending little jerk? Maybe if you tried being less annoying and whiney. Or maybe if you didn’t make it quite so fucking obvious that you equate a woman’s looks with her power or abilities. Yeah, we get kinda bitchy about that sort of thing.
It’s great that your mom was exposed to situations that allowed her to be “hip”, but many of the old privileged women out there know nothing beyond their own little circles. Maybe that makes them conservative bigots, maybe not, I dunno.
What misogynist bullshit. Grow some balls and be man enough to learn how to relate to women, not hide behind this screed. You, too, billfish678.
LOL. Little boys.
Oh, dear. I guess you’ve never been around old black women.
Fear of the other is a universal human quality.
Be proud of advancing in age. It’s a privilege denied far too many.
If the words:
Calm down
Be quite
STFU
or if you are so fucking smart do it yourself…
Do NOT cause you to:
Calm down
Be quite
STFU
or just fucking do it yourself…
Well, then you are on your way.
Oh boy, this oughta be good. I would add something, but I stopped reading after the part I quoted.
If the words:

:dubious: You seem to be asserting that when you order somebody to “Calm down”, or “Be quite [sic]”, or “Shut the fuck up” or “If you are so fucking smart do it yourself”, any response other than instant compliance counts as “bitchy stupid arguementative [sic] old woman shit”.
Tell us, billfish678, do you always meekly and instantly comply when anybody orders you to “Calm down” or “Be quiet” or “Shut the fuck up”?
If not, maybe you should stop being such a bitchy stupid argumentative old man?
