While pawing through our ‘junk room’ so I can burn some Mixup Holiday songs on CD for Lady Chance I stumbled across a bag of pinbacks I must have picked up at EveCon last year and forgotten about.
(Pinbacks, for the uninitiated, are those little pins with pictures or messages or whatnot. Popular back in my punk days for attaching to jackets and such. Don’t really see much of them anymore…at least I don’t.)
OK, then. Here’s the one’s I found:
“The three most dangerous things are a programmer witha soldering iron, a manager who codes, and a user who gets ideas.”
“Just once, I’d like to be able to vote for the better of two goods.”
“The trouble with being an adult is that it takes up so much of your time.”
“The result of a youth wasted on gaming and comics.”
“Speak the truth, even if your voice trembles.”
“That which does not kill me makes me stranger.”
“Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.”
“OK, that was a little TOO educational.”
“War is how Americans learn geography.”
“It’s OK to disagree with me. However, once I explain where you’re wrong, you’re supposed to become enlightened and change your mind. Congratulating me on how smart I am is optional.”
“On time. On budget. On Mars. Pick Two.”
Man, I love pinbacks.
Of course, as a sign I’m aging…20 years ago they would have said, “Black Flag” or “Runk Pock” or some such.
