Some Videos That Will Make You Feel Inferior In Video Games

Right here .

I defy you to do better.

I’m pretty sure these guys are all in the “plays by sense of smell” territory.

Wow, I watched that Street Fighter video and all I can say is…well wow.

I’ve seen a couple of those before (the Street Fighter and DDR ones). Always fun.

The unnamed music guy delighted me; the Tetris guy terrified me. I mean, I know they were joking about the army of cyborgs. Right? Right?

You know, they’re about to re-release Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo to the box Arcade soon. It’ll have leaderboards and online play. That will fulfill a childhood dream of mine because I was the baddest Street Fighter player in the city.
I want to go out into the world and get steamrolled.

I already know I’m inferior in video games. I was recently replaying Blue Shift. Easy mode-ridiculously easy. Medium mode, no problem. Hard mode… I’m doing about as well as a lone person trying to fight past scores of heavily armed enemies would actually do in real life.

The Puyo Puyo thing was weird…right before the combo, there were a lot of times when the left player SHOULD have lost, where the bubbles were above the top, unless I’m totally misunderstanding how the game works.

Still, those were flippin’ AWESOME. The Tetris…(I didn’t know there was a hold option!) was amazing, and the musical one…the guy’s hands were actually blurs!

In case anyone’s curious, the music game is Pop’n Music, a Japanese arcade staple.

I’m not that impressed with the Mario one. Assuming it’s done with save states any good platformer could replicate that without a huge time investment. I’m pretty good at both Tetris and Minesweeper. I didn’t watch the whole tetris video, the guy’s good, but nothing that drops my jaw. The minesweeper video is pretty crazy, my best score on expert is 84 seconds, if I got a really good grid and was in practice I think I could get around 60-65 seconds, 37 is just nuts.

Here’s a video of a rogue I used to play with in WoW. He’s easily the best player I’ve played with, some considered him the best rogue in the game (out of probably a bit over a million rogues) There’s a video around of a hunter I played with too (Fubarious) killing 6 guys at the same time that’s pretty impressive to me too. WoW has a ton of luck involved though so it’s debatable about how much skill there really is.

I don’t get the WoW one. Can you explain it a little bit to me?

It’s hard to see, but he’s basically utterly annihilating enemies he shouldn’t be able to punk like that.

It’s a compilation video of a player fighting a variety of different opponents. If you don’t play WoW you probably won’t get what’s going on, but basically he’s fighting a lot of matches two versus one and even three versus one and winning. WoW player versus player content is often called paper-rock-scissors because everything has a counter. In the last fight he fights the paper to his rock and wins. The resolution probably doesn’t help.

Yeah, the reslution doesn’t help much at all. I’ve never played World of Warcraft (I’m diametrically opposed to having to pay for a game and then paying 15 bucks a month. The game should be free…oh yeah, and I can see myself being completely and hopelessly addicted.)

The action dramatically speeds up near the end of the video, and if I’m watching it correctly, he continued playing through the game’s end credits, in a scenario in which pieces disappeared as soon as they landed; he had to play from memory. And he still won!

Ok, that is pretty impressive.

They picked a poor GH video I think. Here’s the video of what’s probably the pinnacle of GH to date a 100% on Jordan from GH2 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=i7zCv3CuzVc.

Here’s a video of the guy’s hand practicing the song.

Super Mario 3 Time Attack

No save states, no cheating. Two warps. 11 minutes. 99 lives. One smoked Bowser.

This is teh bestest.
