A couple years ago, I surfed the SDMB as “admborg29” or something similar. Then I stopped for a while. Now, I’m back again, as of a few days ago. In the meanwhile, there seems to have been some kind of crash, or hacking, or something. My searches turn up nothing. So, like I said, could somebody fill in the old newbie as to what went on while I was gone?
The board has been hacked once or twice, the most recent being the beginning of this year. At that time they updated the board software to the current version.
What you should do immediately is send an email to the admins tubadiva@aol.com and awinkelried@earthlink.net and explain that you are a returning user. More than one user name per person is not allowed and can get you banned permanently. Decide which name you want to use and they’ll straighten things out.
Well, we solved world hunger and exposed the Illuminati plot to control the world. However, Arnold Winkelreid, under the guise of Spanky, made a deal with the Grays to crash our system in exchange for Cecil’s goat porn. You see, Arnold is a member of the Illuminati and we were getting too close to the real truths (fnord).
So the SDMB went down like a drunk banterweight and Arnold’s secrets are safe. Cecil, frantic for his goat porn, brought the servers back up by manually reviving the hamsters (wugga wugga). In trying to find the files, he upgraded to version two of the vB software.
