InfoRocket will be the biggest failure to ever hit the web. No one is going to pay others just for answering their questions. You have so many sources on the web to look for info. Also, InfoRocket, we all know you rip-offed your idea from this board, don’t try to deny it.
Gee, some years ago some weekly paper in Chicago came up with this silly idea – let’s start a column where people send in all kinds of requests for information, and we’ll hire a guy that can come up with the answers! Nothing came of it, of course.
People, people! There are lots of morons out there who would be more than willing to pay us for our valuable collective knowledge. This isn’t “stupid” or a “pet rock.” It’s an opportunity!
Yeah, this one won’t fly. What could fly and is a subset of this, is a company that specializes in Library/Information searches. Sort of Like Lexis/Nexus but for general information. Would be like hiring a librarian to help with research. You send in your question, and an amount that is the upper limit to what you are willing to spend, and the librarian that gets the question, will do the research and send you a summary and cites for you to pursue. I believe that there is actually a company like this allready, and it is a good idea, unlike this ebid idea.
>>Being Chaotic Evil means never having to say your sorry…unless the other guy is bigger than you.<<
How is someone who is befuddled enough to be willing to pay for the answer to a question going to be qualified to choose the best answerer?
I also like the option to refuse to pay if you don’t like the answer. You could use an answer as the basis for your dissertation and still refuse to pay the answerer.
It bothers me that Guy Kawasaki is a major backer of this idea. He’s written a couple of well received investment books. And been a featured writer in Money Book Club.
I don’t think of this as information. How else would we get so much entertainment out of the “how hot is the steam over boiling water?” question without ever giving a proper answer. Often, as with the shoepolish, the discussion is more interesting than the real answer.
