My 14 year old daughter has been saving her allowance and birthday monies and any other little bits of cash she’s run across for over a year. She is a rabid fan of a particular Canadian country-music singer, and he’s going to be getting some sort of an online shopping arcade on his website sometime in the near future – you know, with t-shirts and coffee cups and video collection, stuff like that. Anyway, she’d saved $145.00 that she was planning to blow in one mind-numbing Paul Brandt-shop-a-thon.
Now she wants to send the money to the Red Cross.
Isn’t that sweet? I’m very proud of her.
Jess
Awww, that’s so sweet. You’ve got a good kid there, Jess.
That is very cool, Jess.
My own 14 yr old, who can’t hold on to money long enough to save more than $20.00, is in OKC with a bunch of her friends delivering teddy bears to one of the firestations to be sent with all the hundreds of others to NYC and DC for the children affected by the attacks.
I dare say there are children all over the world doing what they can.
Our children do us proud.
That’s wonderful. I know you must be proud of her. My 14 year old was out volunteering in the community setting out flags in front of homes from 6am to 11am this morning and has plans to do more on Tuesday evening as soon as they can acquire more.
