Something to think about on Christmas...

The lyrics from my favorite Christmas song. Yeah, the people it’s talking about, even if they were affluent, probably wouldn’t care about Christmas, but that’s not the point.
Enjoy… and think about it. And I apologize to the mods in advance if this violates some copyright.

Merry Christmas everyone

Yeah, I was discussing that last night with Mr. Rilch and some other people. “Thank god it’s them instead of you”? Why would any one thank god that someone was suffering? I mean, be thankful that you’re not, but don’t rejoice because someone else drew a low card. And “There won’t be snow in Africa this Christmas”? Well, there’s no snow here in LA. There’s no snow in Honolulu, or Melbourne, or Mexico City, so what are they saying? And “The clanging chimes of Doom”? If they’re talking about Ethiopia, I don’t believe there was a war on at the time, so there were no direct threats. People were dying slowly and miserably, but that message could be sent without grand operatics.

Who wrote that, anyway?
