Sometimes Crime Dramas Don't Teach You Everything You Need to Know

A 28 year old woman originally from my adopted home area in Massachusetts disappeared on a camping trip with her boyfriend in Oregon a few days ago. They got into an argument and she stormed off and didn’t return the rest of the day or that night. He decided to report her missing 18 hours later. He told the police he figured that she had found another group to spend the night with because she was mad at him. I didn’t know her but I do know some of her friends and I got the prayer updates my local church as the search stretched on for 3 days with no sign of her. Those of us that watch true TV crime stories probably know where this is going.

She was found alive and will be just fine. She injured from a long fall down a creek bed with some broken bones and lacerations but will make a full recovery. Sometimes the real story is just as presented and won’t become the next round of tabloid fodder. I am very relieved for her family..

I thought this was going to be something like “the MEs still test for aconite metabolites” or something. I was gonna have to go to Plan B.
