Ok, there are a couple songs I want to downlo… I mean purchase. But I cannot think of their names. What’s worse, is I dont even know the words in some of them. Let’s see who the experts are out there.
Ok… first the easy ones:
That 70s song that people are always strutting to. “you can tell by the way i walk im a lady’s man” or something like that.
The club song from the classic SNL skit and night at the roxberry.
The Dashboard Confessional song where he’s like “kiss me hard cause this may be the last time…”
Now the hard one:
Circa 2000 there was a top 40 song. A female sang it. It was, I believe, about an angel falling or some crap like that.
Any guess is welcome on this one!!
Is it Staying Alive? This is the one where Bart was like, “Theres only one thing to do in this situation - STRUT” And they played this tune. It’s always played with people walking down a sidewalk or something and the view always starts at their feet and pans up and out. I am pretty sure this was from some movie originally. I dont know the original movie, but I’ve seen it many times in comedies and such.
You guys are great. I will be so impressed if someone can tell me the last one though.
For the record, it’s not Even Angels Fall by jessica riddle or In the Arms of an Angle by whomever sang that…
This was more of a pop kinda song. Think they even remixed it for clubs i think. It was similar in style to Leave me Breathless by the Coors and was popular around the same time. I know this because I had them both burned on the same cd back then… but it was a slow song though, I think.
No but keep the guesses coming please.
And, lol, it might not even be about an angel. I think it just kinda describes one crashing down in the begining of the song… could have been a bird though…
damn this is killing me. is there anywhere i can look at top 40 songs from 2000 and 2001?
You “think” it is a slow song? how are we supposed to figure it out? Is it the same tempo as “Breathless”? They remix any song nowadays so that doesn’t really help. Give us mroe to work with.
NO. Lol. But thanks. “In the Arms of the Angels” is one of the few songs I know it isnt’. <see above>
This really bugged me all weekend until I finally had to get my mind off it. I will go back home in the middle of October, and I know the song is on my brothers hard drive.
In the meantime, if there is a genious (read psychic mind reader) who can tell me the song that’s a splinter in my mind right now…
It is definitely a slow song. It is by a female. It is pop/top 40 style, and it came out around 2000- 2001. It is similar to, or at least similar enough to have been put on the same CD with, Leave Me Breathless, Sunny Came Home and Enya’s Only Time.
Also, though I think the first couple lines mentions an angel and some tears, something about the sun, maybe falling… (could be a bird, rain, random light and flying… ) I am almost positive the word angel is NO WHERE in the title.
That’s about all I got. That and a tiny little bit of the opening melody which fades in and out of memory.
Experts?
Well, I thought I was doomed when this song was nowhere on my brother’s hard drive. But I was browsing my friend’s computer yesterday and just by shear luck, I found it. I did not recognize the title or anything like that. I was just browsing through all of his songs when I happened to click on this one out of hundreds…
And as soon as the words started, I was like “Wait a tic!!” I was so happy to put this to rest!!!
For those of you wondering, the song is Tonight and the Rest of My Life by Nina Gordon!!
This song might not be about an Angel, but that’s the way I’ve always interpreted it as. Some Angel falling down to earth. And as I read the lyrics, I realize it has everything I mentioned earlier.
