The good Dr. was playing the top five on the show I heard Monday, one of the songs was tolken related to the tune of a few Eminem songs combined. Anyone know the song name and the artist?
I don’t have XM and haven’t heard the song , but i’d guess (from the title) that it’s “Stealing Like a Hobbit” by The Great Luke Ski. Info from This site. If not, I’m sure the site can help you out.

I’m sure D.E.S.K.Top668 is right. Here’s the entire playlist for that show as posted on the newsgroup rec.music.dementia:
Holy crap! I didn’t realize Dr. Demento was on XM! Does the show run on a regular schedule?
One more reason to thank my dad for getting me an XM PC receiver for my birthday …
Yes that was it thank you oh so much!

I wish I could afford a PC Receiver, instead I have a Sky-Fi w/ a car, house, and the boombox. I thouught of a way to use the skyfi as a XM PC clone but don’t know anyone who can make a usb cable w/ an IR blaster and program the software to send the signals
No Problem. I haven’t been there in a while, but I happened to have that site in My Favorites.
Don’t forget to Staaayy Demented.

I have to set my PC to record the show tomorrow so I can get Stealing Like A Hobbit the artist won’t release it on cd until 2004 and I want to listen to it again.
A year or so ago I caught the show and it was so fuzzy and in and out but I hadn’t heard the show in a while and was determined to stick it out until I totaly lost signal.
Anyway, I heard a song about some chick leaving like a thousand messages on a guys answering machine and it was one of the funniest things I’ve heard!
Any ideas as to the title?
You can also listen to The Dr. Demento Show every week over the internet. A few stations that carry the show have internet broadcasts as well.
For a listing of available stations, times and links:
You esentially have three different times on Sundays that you can listen.
Enjoy!
If you don’t have a local station or XM, some stations have webcasts as richardb said, but their servers are usually very crowded. There are a couple of other ways to get the show. Check rec.music.dementia for this and lots of other information.
Kricket: I’ve heard a routine (not song) like that on Dr. D. A woman leaves increasingly distraught messages when the man doesn’t return her calls. I think that’s “You Have 257 Messages” by Barry & The Bookbinders.
