song I.D. please...Alice in Chains?

This shouldn’t be tough, but I cannot find out who sings this song. I tried to do a lyric search, but… nothing.

The opening lyrics are “My pain…is self-chosen.” And then it goes on: “The river of deceit flows down… down, down, down…”.

It sounds like it’s by Alice in Chains. Also I need to know what album it’s on.

Not sure of the album, but the song is called “River of Deceit” by Mad Season…a band which includes among it’s members, Layne Staley of AIC

They’ve only got one album, “Above”. As you might expect, it’s on that one.
