I’ve always liked this movie. I think Sean Penn was intense and fearless as a bad guy with a good heart. He was frightening when he beat up those asswipes with the pop cans in the pillowcase, and he was heartbreaking when he cried with his raped and beaten girlfriend (an also good Ally Sheedy). I’ve always thought he should have gotten more attention for this role. (and At Close Range)
