You all know that song, right? The one that goes “If I only could / Make a deal with God…” and all? Well, I know it’s by Kate Bush originally, but I’ve heard this version on my radio station that’s done by a male singer. It sounds sort of like 80s pop- kind of like Real Life or New Order. Anyone know what I’m talking about? Thanks.
Have you checked out www.allmusic.com ? You can search for the song there. First you’ll get a page that lists songs of that name or similar…I clicked on the first reference (42 different recordings). Then you will see the 42 different albums that song is on, along with artists that did it (most of them are Kate Bush…)
You can then try to cross-refence that with Amazon.com … look for the album the song you want to sample is on, and there’s a good chance Amazon will have a clip for you to hear.
Sorry I can’ tgive you a definitive answer. I’ve never heard the song at all! 
The version you may be thinking of is by “Elastic Band”. It got some air-play in the early 90’s and was popular in clubs. Its sort of a techno-pop version that has some similarities to the New Order/New Wave sound.
