Songs about school being out

So I only know of Alice Cooper’s song “Schools out for summer.” What other songs are sung about the glory of school being out for summer, or forever?

no more pencils
no more books
no more teachers’ dirty looks

Does **No Surrender ** count?

"Well we busted out of class
had to get away from those rules
We learned more from a three minute record baby
than we ever learned in school.

“School Days” - Chuck Berry

“(She’s) Sexy + 17” - The Stray Cats

“Kodachome”?

“School Is Out” by Gary ‘US’ Bonds

Most of All by the Cowsills
(paraphased, lyrics un-Googlable)

I’m gonna miss the schoolhouse on the hill
The clang of banging lockers in the hall
But of all the things I miss this summer, baby
I’ll miss you
I’ll miss you
I’ll miss you most of all

Also there’s See You in September by the Happenings. Doesn’t explicitly mention school, but does mention “summer vacation”- I think it’s generally understood to be a “school’s out” song.

Oh, and Are You Ready for the Summer, the theme song from the movie Meatballs (my first exposure to Bill Murray).

See you in September by…The Happenings.
Sealed with a kiss by… Brian Hyland

My first Simulpost…Who gets to say “JINX!”?

Ha! :33 vs. :34

You owe me a Coke!

Dunno if this qualifies, but since I’ve already been beaten to the “See You In September” song, does “Dance, Dance, Dance” qualify? (it’s only after school in a typical day, not summer vacation):

“After six hours of school I’ve had enough for the day
I hit the radio dial and turn it up all the way”

etc…

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N, as sung with great success by Miss Connie Francis.

In the summer time!!

Not exactly about the glory of school being out, but… “Prom Theme” by Fountains Of Wayne?

Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen:

*There were ghosts in the eyes
Of all the boys you sent away
They haunt this dusty beach road
In the skeleton frames of burned out Chevrolets

They scream your name at night in the street
Your graduation gown lies in rags at their feet
And in the lonely cool before dawn
You hear their engines roaring on
But when you get to the porch they’re gone
On the wind, so Mary climb in
It’s a town full of losers
And I’m pulling out of here to win.*

Also Growin’ Up by Bruce Springsteen (sorta):

The flag of piracy flew from my mast, my sails were set wing to wing
I had a jukebox graduate for first mate, she couldn’t sail but she sure could sing,
I pushed B-52 and bombed 'em with the blues with my gear set stubborn on standing
I broke all the rules, strafed my old high school, never once gave thought to landing

And No Such thing by John Mayer:

*“Welcome to the real world”, she said to me
Condescendingly
Take a seat
Take your life
Plot it out in black and white
Well I never lived the dreams of the prom kings
And the drama queens
I’d like to think the best of me
Is still hiding
Up my sleeve

I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world
Just a lie you’ve got to rise above*

Here comes summer
School is out, oh happy days
Here comes summer
Grab my girl and run away
If she’s willing
We’ll go steady right away
Now let the sun shine bright on my happy summer home

“Here Comes Summer” by Jerry Keller? circa 1960.

Alice Cooper strikes again! It’s off the “School’s Out” album and the song to look for is “Alma Mater”.

These songs might qualify:

Jack & Diane - John Mellancamp
Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf
Scenes From An Italian Restaurant - Billy Joel

although they are more about the romance of high school love going to shit and turning into a bitter marriage than they are about school itself.

No love for “Rock & Roll High School” by The Ramones?
I’m pretty sure that counts.
