nikon, there’s no shame in the Alien Ant Farm. I freakin’ love this band, I love the unique sound they have, the unapologetic way they rock, and the strange lyrics to their songs. On TruANT ‘‘Glow’’ and ‘‘Tia Lupe’’ are my faves. My only regret is they only have like, two albums. One of the most underrated bands ever if you ask me.
I was unaware I was supposed to be ashamed of my love of pop music. I have all the Matchbox Twenty CDS, two Killers CDs, I have a Savage Garden* CD for Og’s sake.
And, jsgoddess, you and I can hold onto our Neil Diamond music together–I have actual vinyl of Neil. And the concert I want to go to more than any in the world is a Martin Zellar NEIL! concert, where he covers Neil Diamond songs the entire show. Of course, I’d be happy to go to any Martin Zellar concert, if they weren’t all in the Mid-West. Come to Washington, Martin! I want to hear a live cover of Little Red Corvette.
I guess the rest of you just don’t know good music.
*it’s really mr.stretch’s, but I’ve listened to it.
I should hate Nickelback, but I don’t. They’re great to drive to, drink beer to, party to, …
Same with Linkin Park. I usually hate wiggers, but they’re actually talented.
What in the hell is that?

Joe Cocker. Louis Armstrong./QUOTE]
I was wondering how long it would take until somebody named an artist I like.
How can you be ashamed of enjoying these people? Nickelback I can understand; I’d rather pour molten lead in my ears than listen to them. But Joe Cocker? Who could feel guilty about enjoying “The Letter?”
Alongside my collection of modern jazz and hard rock sits… the debut album from Go West. I should really hide it, but no one looks through my CDs anyway.
“We Close Our Eyes” is too darn catchy.
I hope you have a huge wrench for proper dancing to that song.
The great thing about turning 40 is that I no longer care what other people think about my music. I have “What Goes Around Comes Around” on my iPod. And his live version of the same on Oprah was so good that it’s saved on my DVR. Never liked Timberlake before, in fact couldn’t see what the teenyboppers saw in him. But afer watching him sing that song on Oprah, I got it. If a song makes you happy, buy it.
Intellectually, I completely know this. But emotionally, I am apparently an adolescent who is afraid of catching teh gay or something.
The entirety of Time Life’s Classic Soft Rock Collection. Yes, I own it. Yes, I’m listening to it right this second. Yes, it’s full of the cheesiest music ever. It’s so cheesy, I store the collection in the fridge. I could use it to make a plate of nachos.
But it’s my favorite guilty pleasure ever. Any collection that can give me Tempted, Saturday in the Park, Lowdown, I’m Not in Love, Even the Nights are Better, Your Song, and more is worth its weight in gold…
Seriously, look up the tracklist of this collection and tell me I don’t win this thread.
Yeah, there’s lots of Abba on my iPod. Along with some Barry Manilow, an embarrassing abundance of '70s singles, a couple of Wham numbers, and Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up.’
My guilty pleasures:
Shania Twain–Man, I Feel Like a Woman
Starship–We Built This City AND Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now
Beach Boys–Kokomo
R. Kelly–Ignition Remix–“It’s the freakin’ weekend, baby, I’m about to have me some fun!”
It’s pure cheese, but it’s good cheese
I just can’t get enough of “The Darkness” and I’m sad they broke up.
I like almost every Britney Spears song I’ve heard, but I’ve only heard the big singles, I’ve never listened to one of her albums.
And I’ve decided what my next profile song will be.
Here I was thinking that Arrested Development threw some synthesizer together.
Me too. I remember having the song on repeat while I fell asleep the night I saw it in the theaters. Sucker for romances that have no chance of being reality.
Lately it changes for me, but I can’t get enough of “Respect” from Aretha Franklin. I over play the darn thing. It makes me giggle.
Whew! Glad I’m not the only one that likes 'em . I definitely agree that they’re underrated, it’s a shame that they didn’t get much airplay after “Smooth Criminal”. They’re a very good band live, too! My favorite songs from TruANT are definitely “Tia Lupe”, “Goodbye” and “These Days”; I really like how varied of music they make…it seems rare for most bands to do that nowadays. They do have a new album out. I forget what it’s called because I bought it when it was still known as “3rd Draft”. I don’t think it’s as good as TruANT, but is still definitely worth listening to.
Ice ice baby and u can’t touch this. I’d add baby got back to that but i don’t feel the least guilty about that one.
I’m not at all ashamed to admit that I like Depeche Mode, Neil Diamond, many 80’s hair bands, Shaggy, Irish Rovers, Styx, Marcy Playground, or Enya.
But I feel like there’s something wrong with me when I admit I like Prince, I even had 1999 and Purple Rain on vinyl
