Songs for a hurricane

Can you think of any songs that would go well with a hurricane?

My picks:

One eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater.

Puff the Magic Dragon.

Any others?

“Rock You Like a Hurricane” - The Scorpions

“Blowin’ in the Wind” - Bob Dylan

“Stormy Weather” - obviously.

“Like a Hurricane” (Neil Young)
“Blowin’ Away” (Laura Nyro or the Fifth Dimension)
“Windy” (The Association)

To everything, turn turn turn
There is a season, turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven…
This may give you some solace when you’re cleaning up the rubble (plus the “turns” are kinda symbolic of a hurricane).

Hurricane Season - Billy Pilgrim

“Bad Moon Rising”, “Green River”, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain”, “Who’ll Stop The Rain” and probably a bunch of other CCR stuff.

Well, several years back they showed news footage on one of the big three networks of a gaggle of girls singing at a dance hall or something. They felt safe and confident enough to pass on the urgent appeal to join the evacuation.

They were singing GLORIA.

I can’t seem to recall the year. I suppose I could research it on the net if I rembered the NAME of the hurricane. It seems to have three syllables, biut I just can’t recall.*

Can anyone help me?!

Riders on the Storm - The Doors

Dissection’s “Storm Of The Light’s Bane”

“Hurricane” by Bob Dylan.

What?

Okay then, REO Speedwagon’s “Riding the Storm Out.”

Another CCR - Run Through the Jungle

How about Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath?

How about the hurricane music from Porgy and Bess? Man, after hearing that, you expect to look out the broken windows to see downed trees.

Beethoven’s 6th symphony.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

There’s one song I always associate with hurricanes, from George Romero’s Knightriders.

And I would rather die in a hurricane
Than to never know the storm

Johnny Cash - Five Feet High and Rising

The Serendipity Singers - Don’t Let the Rain Come Down (Crooked Little Man)

Might I suggest “Hell’s Bells” by AC/DC? Also, “Tryin’ to Reason with Hurricane Season” by Jimmy Buffett.

“Wind Beneath My Wings”

What?

Led Zeppelin (by title alone) - “Fool in the rain” and “Over the hills and far away” (like, where is my house?)

Tilly and the Wall - “Ice Storm, Big Gust, and You”, “Let it rain”

Grape Digging Sharon Fruit - “Wet Day”

Camper Van Beethoven - “Where the hell is Bill?”

[Good Morning Vietnam]

Anything, just play it loud!

“Ride of the Valkyries” - Wagner
