Songs for a mid-life crisis

I am planning my mid-life crisis. In fact to tell you the truth an 18 year old female employee of mine is helping me out a bit with the planing phase if that tells you anything about the seriousness of the matter.

I am probably gonna take a super long bike trip. Alaska to South America or some other equally ridiculous journey. I hitchhiked up here from Colorado and lived in a tent for 7 months about 12 years ago so this type of thing is my style.

I was hoping for some good fitting Mid-life crisis songs, or vague journey going songs like “Running down a dream”

If you have an 18-year old female helping you plan your midlife crisis and you’re looking for song suggestions, you’re doing it wrong.

A Pirate Looks at 40…or, for that matter, almost anything else by Jimmy Buffet.

Midlife Crisis by Faith No More

“Alone Again, Naturally” by Gilbert O’Sullivan?

Whatever was on the radio when you were in high school. In my case, Allman Brothers, Doobie Brothers, Kiss and Blue Oyster Cult.

“Is That All There Is” by Peggy Lee

Bat out of Hell worked for me.

Don’t Stand So Close to Me by the Police might be a good start.

Or just about anything by R. Kelly

Stuck in Lodi Again

Night Moves - Bob Seger

Ain’t it funny how the night moves
with autumn closing in…

Boys of Summer - Don Henley

And for the road trip aspect:

Take It to the Limit - The Eagles

“Midnight Rider” Allman Brothers
“Let the River Run” Carly Simon

Fifty-six is such a good time to do this. Damn, I loved being in my fifties! Come home clear and strong…

I am in my 30’s

The play list is kinda a combo idea.
