As far as I know, most popular music that uses saxophones use alto or tenor instruments. I’m curious as to what a baritone sounds like in a band. Please, post some examples
Eurythmics – Right By Your Side
Baritone Saxophone – Martin Dobson
Good lord - you want to listen to Morphine for rock and Gerry Mulligan for jazz.
Morphine - mobile links
Gerry Mulligan -
It isn’t a hit song, but The Anchor Song by Bjork is just vocals and saxes. One of those is a baritone, right?
Frank Zappa: Joe’s Garage Frank Zappa - Joe's Garage + Lyrics - YouTube
The Seatbelts - Too Good Too Bad (sax really picks up around 1:34)
dang, ninja’d by WordMan!
Los Lobos use bari sax a lot, though I’m not familiar enough with their discography to cite a good example.
Holy Crap Word Man, I did not know about Gerry Mulligan at all.
Thank you, Thank you

I just finished listening to this piece of awesome
Simon and Garfunkel’s Baby Driver has a bit of bari sax in it - around 1:40, you can here the baritone driving the bass line along with what I think is a tenor sax.
Martha Reeves and the Vandellas - (Love Is Like a) Heat Wave
Oh yeah; his work with Paul Desmond is great. And I have a cd where he plays with Ben Webster that is amazing…
Thanks!
I’m not much for Jazz, but I liked that first Gerry Mulligan piece- It shows off a really smooth upper register - doesn’t squawk like the smaller ones do!
Feel free to post more!

They’re even referred to in the lyrics, although the original recording featured alto saxes instead of the correct baritones. JB finally re-recorded it with the correct instrument a few years ago.

Rehab - Amy Winehouse.
In the Midnight Hour - Wilson Pickett
