Sonic Drive-in. You've gone a step too far

Ok. Went to Sonic. Got me an unsweetened Tea. As usual.

They have a new ad on the order sign thingy. The
Sonic Dirty drink.

Ivy had to try it. Dr.Pepper, coconut cream, lime wedge.
The picture looked disgusting.
Ivy said it tasted nasty.

First: Don’t name anything dirty at a drive in restaurant. Dumb.

Second: at least make it taste ok. At least.

Third: a vaguely sexual innuendo enough?

Who was the person who ok’d this?

Gah!!

It came from Utah so bored teenage Mormons are likely involved.

Dr pepper you say?

fer sure

I will always love Cajun dirty rice, whatever the name may be.

I’ll take a bag of Dirty Potato Chips with my dirty martini.

Oh me too. But it’s served in my kitchen. Not a drive-in.

I’ll gladly eat Corndogs from Sonics nasty grease fryer. But they don’t call them “Dirty dogs

I bet they’d sell like dirty hotcakes if they did.

Only if it’s caffeine-free Dr. Pepper.

Dr. Pepper happens to be my favorite soft drink, and has been since I was a little kid. But it already claims to have 23 distinct flavors blended together, and dumping coconut and lime in it seems like overkill.

I forget what it’s called but they are also serving Dr Pepper with pickles in it.

Sonic is going full force for the GenZ crowd on Tiktok.

Doesn’t this thread belong in Cafe Society?

Anyway, my mom and brother went to her hometown to decorate graves a few weeks ago, and she mentioned stopping at “a carhop place that wasn’t A&W” for some food. I replied, “Sonic? That’s not food.” She chuckled.

Theres a pizza place too far from me to visit, they have a pickle pizza.
no.

I tried it but I got a belly ache.
At least it only cost a dime.

Srsly? As kids, we used to say Dr Pepper was what you got if you took the remaining pop from every other flavor after they were bottled and mixed it together. Never knew that was true!

Now lemme get this straight
You put the lime in the coconut?

Yeah…and after that you let the good times roll and then you jump into the fire.

No no no…“you drink 'em all up!”

In my misspent youth in The Bronx, the guy at the soda fountain (my youth was a long time ago) would make us a “cherry coke” by mixing cherry-soda syrup (probably no actual cherries were harmed in its making) and Coke syrup and seltzer. Tasted a lot like Dr. Pepper, as I remember.

The dirty soda trend

Sure. and then everybody’s talkin’.

At Baskin-Robbins ca. 1980, we made cherry Coke floats with a spoonful of juice from the maraschino cherry jar. That stuff is incredibly strong.
