Sonic Drive-in. You've gone a step too far

My Daddy used to make Shirley Temples for the kids with sprite and grenadine.

What’s a dirty Shirley Temple?
Sounds like a joke…na na na na… I don’t wanna know. :see_no_evil:

Add some olive juice. :stuck_out_tongue:

Does this mean that Laverne started the dirty soda trend by mixing milk and Pepsi?

I’m trying to cut down sugar, but it sounds like something to try. But I think I’d have problems deciding what to try.

Isn’t this just an Italian soda? They’ve been a thing at non-Starbucks coffee shops here on the west coast for at least 25 years - soda water, heavy cream, and Torani syrup in the flavor of your choice, stirred with ice and whipped cream on top.

Olive and Shirley, I knew they were bad bad bad girls.

How can it come from Utah and not have Green Punch in it?

You can make Green Punch with this recipe, usinf Lime Jello

I guess it picks up on the Dirty Martini - a martini with olive juice. My step son ordered an extra dirty and I gave it a sip. Crap. Completely ruins the simple martini taste.

However - my favorite appetizer at a local pub is their Dirty Martini Dip. A blend of cream cheese and blue cheese with chopped green olives. Served with a plate of crustini (French bread sliced thin and well toasted). It’s awesome.

My son-in-law likes it a lot.

Well, she had 3 kids, so she got dirty at least 3 times.

Nah, that’s a “chocolate moo” as I understand the drink. No cacao beans are harmed or harvested to make it.

I’d think the acid in the 7up, added to milk in this classic ad, would make the milk curdle. Ugh.

If you think this is bad you should see some of the TV cigarette ads of the 60’s.

If you believe this, 7-Up works well with everything:

Hey, you can baste a ham with it! Jelly salads, salad dressing, cakes and icing, it’s good for everything!

Including milk:

Blecch!

One in particular.

That sounds absolutely revolting.

Reminds me of a story my mother told me, some mischief she had pulled off when she was a kid.

My mother grew up in Missouri. Summertime: hot, humid, buggy, miserable.

Everyone had eaten the last meal of the day, and my grandmother said she was going to sit outside in the shade, hoping to catch a breeze. My mother and her sisters knew that meant they were to clean the kitchen and do the dishes, and oh, yes, bring my grandmother a fresh glass of iced tea.

The devil possessed those girls, and prompted them to fill a glass with whatever liquid was left on the table: the juice from the beets, the salad dressing at the bottom of the bowl, even the last of the gravy. Plop in a few ice cubes, and carry it out to my grandmother.

And then they stood back to hear her yell.

That’s what comes to my mind when I read about these new Dirty Sodas.

Yuck.
