I’ve been watching SOA on Netflix and I’m about halfway thru season 2. Those guys sure hug each other a lot. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Mr. Boozilu hug anyone other than his mom – certainly not his friends.
Do guys really do that???
Oh sure, all the time. We just have to be sure to pat the other guy on the back as we’re doing it so “The Gay” doesn’t creep in.
Same rule applies for cuddling.
It is perfectly acceptable (indeed, expected) for guys to hug each other if they have just won the World Series, or something like that.
And you have to make sure your cheeks don’t touch. Or certain other parts, either.
A long time ago in a different life I used to drink a to bar that had a lot of real patched bikies. They would often walk up and kiss each other on the mouth! I was a bit suss but these guys were 100% hetro, it was done to freak out the squares, the same reason they wear ss symbols etc.
But on the hug point, yeah I hug my mates but it is done in a very particular way.
First strong handshake, step in and pat the bloke with the other hand on the back. step back let go of hand shake, it must be done almost aggressively.
