So, things are certainly… interesting.

Well, now Jax has gone completely if not operatically psycho, determined to exterminate Lin’s gang with such pointless ferocity that of course the “local muscle” were going to be killed. I gather one of them was a son (or relative or gay lover or something) of the Nevada chapter president and the odds of presenting a plausible ending for the series that leaves the club undestroyed have dropped significantly.

I’m finding it a tad unlikely that nobody else in the SOA has expressed misgivings about the current course of action, and it’s straining credibility that they can pull off these nonsurprise attacks with 100% success and none of them gets so much as a scratch, but, hey… opera.

Yeah, I’m not sure what the hell the rest of the club is thinking in just going along with Jax on some of this stuff. Might be that we’ll see that as a friction point as things continue to skid out of control.

Favorite moments of the episode:

Tig pulling Rat’s head into his lap to give the appearance of “cheap head” and keeping it there after the convoy had passed. “Hey, are you getting hard?!” LOL!

Tig making a comment about running out of room to bury bodies, and Happy saying “I know a thousand other places”. Chilling and funny at the same time, and probably prophetic.

It seemed to me that the hired help was doomed the moment Jax asked for their address. Gemma is at least engaged in self-preservation. Jax really should never do anything based on Gemma’s accusations and he should know better.

I don’t remember the club going this eagerly homicidal even after a member was killed (Opie, and when Jax pointlessly antagonized the black MC whose name I forget, Bobby Elvis was willing to go Nomad in protest). Wasn’t the general assumption that Tara was about to rat them out? If anything, most of the SOA should be GLAD she’s dead, not eager to start a war to avenge her.

And nobody seems to be wondering where Juice went, surely the timing of his disappearance must raise questions. AND why can’t he leave town? It’s the same determined emotion driven acting against one’s own self interest that annoyed me about Tara herself. Run! Don’t look back! Why are you still here?!

That’s been my thought. I need to run for my life and get away from the club … so I’ll stay in this small town of roughly 15,000 people and hope everything just gets better. At least in this episode he finally left town for Gemma’s dad’s house.

Didn’t he end up back at the junkie’s apartment, though? I have to wonder why he tried to leave in broad daylight, but no biggie.

No idea why Juice is back after starting to leave town. He’s about as sharp as a bowling ball, so there’s that. I think the reason that nobody is questioning the timing of his disappearance is that they all know that he told Nero that Jax had ordered the killing of that woman last season (the mother of the kid who shot up that school, I think). I don’t think anybody remotely thinks at this point that he had anything to do with Tara’s death.

But you know what? If you’re thinking too much about this show, you’re watching it wrong. It’s entertaining as hell at times, but nowhere near as good or meaningful as it pretends to be. It’s a freaking soap opera with motorcycles and graphic violence. Sit down with some whiskey, turn off the brain, and go for the ride.

Ripping the show apart is half the fun.

That’s about it at this point. I’m going to stick with it just to see how it ends.

I got sucked in a couple seasons in and went back to watch the beginning. It was just something so foreign to me and I found it fascinating. And even though it was more violent than I care for, at least it used to have quite a few light moments to ease it up. Yes, the last couple seasons have gotten even more graphically violent but after last week I wasn’t so sure I could watch to the end. The torture of an innocent (well innocent of at least Tara’s murder) was deeply disturbing to me. When I realized what was going to happen, I had to fast forward through it. But like I said, I want to see the end so I will continue to watch and slap my forehead at the stupidity (and fast forward through what I can’t bare to watch).

And there were a few light moments in this episode. I actually laughed when the Mayan asked how the sons knew Lin’s guys had been killed and Bobby said “we saw it on Fox News - they’re blaming Obama”.

I think the custom-carved round-table looks remarkably preserved following the explosion and fire that destroyed its previous residence…

Nice touch.

Same here. I actually said to my husband that I don’t think I can continue to watch it. But I do, just to see how it ends.

I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a fictional character more than I dislike Gemma Teller.

I’m worried about Unser now - it looks like Gemma thinks that Juice told him that she killed Tara (“He told me why you’re hiding him”) and now that she’s seen his “consultant” badge and the files on Tara’s murder (that he left out in the open, wtf) I think he’s the next to get the Gemma Treatment.

This used to be my all time favoritest show and I loved the characters despite how horrifically flawed they are. Now though? About the only people I can tolerate are Unser and Wendy, and the only person I actively like is Nero. Hell, I’d be happy if the whole blame lot of them were brutally tortured to death for all their many sins. Jax most of all for being a complete dumbass and always trusting Medusa, I mean Gemma. Sheesh.

Though I wouldn’t trust Medusa, either, I respectfully suggest the archetypal evil mom is Medea.

In the first episode of the season, didn’t Gemma claim “I’m not a psychopath.” Well… ya kinda *are… * and it’s not exactly a recent development.

Good point (and in that regard, Medea is a better choice), but I call her Medusa at home because that’s what her idiotic skunk hair reminds me of. Just less interesting.

I wish Leela was there to kick her ass.

I can’t argue with anything said thus far in the thread. There are times when Sutter just tries to make us puke just for the fun of it. And logic quit being a criterion long ago. And the loyalty in the club is another name for stupidity.

But I love the show and wouldn’t miss any of it. I will be sorry when it leaves us.

I expect a mini-holocaust of an ending that may last at least two episodes.

Bring it on!

I just want Tig to make it out alive and maybe Chibs. And Bobby. I’m already braced for Wayne to leave us soon and how Juice is still around is like a cat playing with a mouse it’s caught. Sutter toying with us.

I totally agree.

I’ve always liked Wendy (or in my mind at first, “Adrianna!”) and IMO she has proven to be the best mom for little Abel and Thomas. I really hope that’s how it ends up.

I adore Nero. He’s pretty much the only character with true honesty, respect and integrity. It’s too bad the poor bastard got sucked into Gemma’s vortex.

Remember when Abel was kidnapped and handed off to.a corrupt nun for a shady adoption?

He was better off.

And Jax knew it too. Remember when he followed Abel and his new “family” around that market? It was heartbreaking when the shit went down later.
