Some months ago Sony announced their new ebook Reader, what appears to be a nifty device. At the time they said it would be delayed until Spring, until they could get deals set up with publishers and booksellers to download books to it.
I can go to a Sony website and get all sorts of information about it, but not a clue as to whether the book deal has been made or where one can buy the Reader.
They do have a “Dealer” link that lists a whole mess of retailers locally, none of whom have ever heard of the thing.
I have a number of Sony stereo components and know full well the near impossiblity of ever reaching a human being at Sony either by phone or email. Naturally, even with this new device they are promoting, there is no “Contact Us” link on the Reader site.
I tried a shopping bot search and sure enough, there was the Reader listed at $349 at one store. Clicking on that link, guess where it sent me? Sure, right back to the Sonly site! Absolutely typical of their circuitous, misleading, avoidance of ever having anything to do with a customer policy. I’d never buy any of their stuff if it were not so good! :rolleyes:
Does anybody know if the Reader is being sold anywhere and whether any books are yet available for it?
