I think it’s more that Meadow is AMAZINGLY naive about her father’s friends. She just thought that Finn was bitching about all the work on the job site and probably had no idea that her father’s friends could do stuff like they do. If she knew, she’d probably feel as bad… remember when she was saying what nice guys they were?
As for Finn, I’m not as hard on him as others are. He probably fears for his life and thinks that even if he leaves for Cali he won’t be safe. He’s got Vito on the one hand, but Tony is going to be pissed if he just ups and leaves Meadow.
I wonder if Christopher really will go into witness protection? He’s been humiliated both with the drug intervention and everyone thinking Tony was nailing his fiancee, and he was almost killed by Tony. Now he’s being passed over because Tony B. is back. I think the writers might be setting up a plausible scenario for Christopher to say, “Screw it.” and head into witness protection. Then we could have all kinds of intrigue about Tony trying to get at Christopher and Christopher giving up dirt on Tony.
Maybe they’ll end the series with Christopher on the witness stand testifying against Tony.
I think Meadow is in serious denial about “the family business.” Her showing A.J. the Mob web-site and her sly insinuations to Tony in, well, every season so far, leads me to believe that, after Jackie Jr.'s death and hearing Uncle Junior singing in the resaurant, she went into an alcohol induced state of denial that stuck even after she sobered up.
And I firmly believe she absorbed her denial/coping skills from Carm.
I’m even more convinced that Ade is going down…and not in a good way. She (the actress) is starring on “Joey” next season and may not be able to serve two masters.
