Sopranos - 4/16

“Finn saw him giving some guy a blowjob”

Sitting on a parkbench…
I had to rewind this 5 times to hear it over my wife laughing.

Best lines ever. Really.

I also liked the line, “Maybe it’s a phase of life…” to which Chris said, “What, sucking dick?” Good answer.

Boy is Meadow conflicted. I see her as an overeducated mob wife if she keeps up with that double standard… or a consigliere.

So…
What’s Vito going to do?

He took all that money, that speaks against suicide. If he was going to off himself, he’d have left that for the wife.

There were a bunch of funny lines, but they devoted almost a whole episode to that single plot. It felt like not very much happened.

Is she? Maybe if she listened to what Finn said, but I’ve been getting the impression she’s got her excuses and she’s her mind to tolerate what Tony does.

Looks like he is going to start an antique business and look into sucking some more dick.

Good Episode. I love how Paulie sees this as an affront to himself.
Vito can not return. Phil would kill him and Tony would have to, to maintain his the respect of his “Social Club”.
Tony surprised me, much more understanding than I thought he would be.
Poor Carmella, she wants a piece of the action.
Finn and Meadow will definitely be splitting up. Finn is not going to want to marry into the Soprano family, he is to afraid of it. {Rightfully so, he should be afraid of it}

It was good to see Finn finally start to call Meadow on some of her bullshit. What a preachy little bitch.

I didn’t understand the part at Pussy’s wife’s body shop where she was dealing with Patsy and another mob guy. What was that all about?

She was buying blackmarket/stolen parts to reduce overhead in the shop or possibly even fencing.

Educational episode. Apparently, if you have a dog, you can’t be a terrorist.

Thanks.

Interesting to see Vito considering his potential paradise in NH. Would that be far enough away from NJ though? Still, he’s a murdering sociopathy so how long could he actually last in that lifestyle?

Phil’s reaction was brilliant. He’s getting better each episode.

I spent a lot of time in Malaysia and the religious Moslems there would never have a dog as a pet. They regarded them as unclean and wouldn’t even touch one. It follows that a Moslem with a pet dog is not very religious and therefore not as likely to be tied up in Fundamentalist terrorism. Whether or not Chrissy is smart enough to know all of this is debatable.

Oh, I meant to add that the road worker’s conversation on the cell phone with Tony was the funniest scene on The Sopranos in recent memory. “Hold on a minute” – toss under the steamroller. I had to pause the TiVo for five minutes.

Heh, nothing beats that video footage of Janice running after somebody and howling and the cops tackling her. (Unless it was the other way around? No, I think the cops tackled Janice.) Either way, that bit made my decade, when that happened.

Chris was oddly intelligent this week. He was right about that (even if it was an accident) and he was 100 percent right about why Vito called Silvio at three a.m. after the wedding.

“Vito is a come up from behind kind of guy” - T

Here’s why that REALLY made me laugh.

It’s interesting that Carlo is becoming more of a major character. Up until this point he was a very obscure fade-into-the-background guy who was rarely seen. Now he’s taking over Vito’s whole operation (which was the top earning racket in the whole crew.) He seems to be headed for big things.

Loved the episode. It had some of the funniest lines I’ve heard in quite some time.

Carlo really did come out of nowhere…he’s not even on the cast list on the HBO website. Went there tonight to find out more about him.

And man, if you thought European royalty interbred, they’ve apparently got nothing on the NY/NJ mob. Very interesting that Phil (of all people!) is related to poor Mrs. Vito.

Tough episode for Good Mrs. Soprano as well. Going to be interesting to see if she strikes out into “business” on her own like Angie did in coming episodes.

Any clue as to what town stood in for New Hampshire in the episode tonight, or was it a real town up there? The credits didn’t list any town outside of New Jersey or New York. “Johnnycakes” made me smile, cause it reminded me of the Donald Sutherland voiced Springfield history museum director from The Simpsons.

Microwaveable Johhny Cakes? I thought of that too.

Apparently it was filmed in Boonton, New Jersy
