Sopranos Season Finale

The season finale for the Sopranos is coming up next sunday (12/8). Obviously, something big is going to happen. I have a few ideas of what it could be…

(1) Furio commits suicide after being heartbroken from leaving Carmela.

(2) Paulie is whacked by Tony for being a traitor/working with the New Yorkers.

(3) Johnny Sakc is wacked by Carmine for being a pain in the ass.

(4) Carmine is wacked for being old and senile (and a terrible golfer).

(5) Full-fledged gang war between Carmine and the Soprano crew.

(6) Johnny is wacked by Tony for being a pain in the ass.

(7) Junior is found guilty at his RICO trial (verdict probably won’t be until next season though)

(8) Tony is wacked by Carmine’s crew/Johnny Sack.

(9) Meadow is raped/kidnaped/murdered by her boyfriend after finally fixing up her life.

(10) Chris escapes rehab and does something really crazy, ultimatly getting himself killed.

(11) Pauly gets arrested for murdering the old lady.

(12) Bobby kills himself because he can’t stand being w/o his wife.

So, what does everyone think? Yes, some seem crazy but a lot of plot development happens during the show which could lead to the big ending.

This literally cannot happen, if at all, until the end of season five (the last season). Killing Tony would be killing the golden goose.

I’m thinking that Johnny Sack will whack Carmine, Tony will whack Paulie, and Carmine will take his place.

In the meantime, Carmela heads off to Italy to find Furio, and Tony goes bananas.

I think they will bring up yet another plotline that they’ll never finish.

At least one person will get whacked. My votes are either Carmine or Paulie (by the way, who’s mother did Paulie whack? That was the most disturbing “death face” I’ve seen on TV that I can remember.)

You can’t kill Tony… who would watch the last season?

As for Carmella and Furio… god, what a painful storyline. If I never see Carmella again, I’ll be happy. Put her on a plane and get her to Italy. Let her take Janice. In pieces, if necessary.

Maybe Tony will whack Carmella for stealing the money out of the bird seed! (now THERE’S wishful thinking for you.)

I think Meadow gets raped or hurt somehow.

I think Meadow’s options for pain are pretty limited.

Rape? They’ve done a rape. Now, if Tony had known about Melfi’s rape, then there’d be something dramatic they could build out of that. But as it stands, having another rape would just be double-dipping.

Emotionally hurt by boyfriend? Been done.

Now, if her boyfriend winds up slapping her around, then we’ve got something the writers can work with in an artistically satisfying way (not that that has been their top priority this season, but still). Tony already has a connection in his mind between Meadow and Tracee, the stripper Ralph beat to death, so he’d probably lay the last beating on the guy he’d ever need.

I’m thinking that Johnny will get whacked by Paulie for leading him on about his ‘good standings’ with the New York family.

This will lead Carmine to believe Tony was behind it and an all out gang war will ensue next season.

Meadow will rat out her dad to the feds - she never got over her rage at being named “Meadow” instead of real Jersey girl goomba name like Angelina. She takes the money Tony stashed in the house and backyard, and sends her mother to live in her grandmothers old house. She becomes the next Attorney General of the United States.

AJ will put aside his lame teenage facade, wacks Big Carmine, Furio, Paulie Walnuts and Michael. He becomes head of the New York and New Jersey families. His first rule: no more Italian songs.

Turns out to be Tony vs. Carmella, with no compelling cliff-hangers. Strong story, but not what I wanted. I wanted more on the business side. Oh well…

Same here, D. As soon as I saw that it was the would-be-whackers that were going to get whacked, I cried foul.

In the Soprano world, is a divorce a real possibility? I would think that Carmella would know too much to be left walking around on her own… but perhaps I’m wrong. I don’t remember any divorced couples in the Sopranos, which makes me wonder…

Ralph and Jackie both were separated/divorced. Both also are dead. Read into that what you will.

I felt VERT cheated by the finale. Sure enough they started a new story line (the vacation house). Why? Why would it seem like a good idea until some of the other great story lines out there get wrapped up? Ugh. While Carmella gets on my nerves, the performance on the finale blew me away. She did an excellent job.

Still a weak Soparno’s show with the Russian gooba in a bra and panties is still good for three stars.
