That’s the commonly accepted fairy story, anyway…some anthropologists disagree, and think we were more bonobo than chimp. Sexually speaking.
Look, I hate to burst your bubble, but he also threw “bell curve” in there. That stand alone sentence about minorities wasn’t poorly phrased or an accident. Get it?
And all women are potential desecrators of a corpse.
Can someone link to where this fact is given?
Maybe I’m naive, but I don’t view all women as potential fake rape victims.
I think a lot of people with power and/or wealth are risk takers. They push the envelop; they try to become movie stars or famous athletes, they invest their life savings in starting a business, or they run for political office. Lots of people fail at those things, too, and it can impact their whole lives, but we don’t notice them or think about that side of the coin very often. The ones we do notice have been rewarded for their risk-taking. Add that bit of positive reinforcement and I wouldn’t be surprised if rich and powerful men were more like to push the envelop in personal and sexual matters, too.
So no, I don’t think every man wants to but only some think they can get away with it. Some people have a boom-or-bust mentality, and we only see the ones who got the boom.
Oh yeah. I absolutely get it. Give me a break. You’re hearing a dog whistle where there wasn’t any.
It has come to the point today where my only response can be.
**Thank you. It is nice to hear it. **
This might be the most poorly worded response ever, at least I hope so.
Did you mean to say the **exceptions **where you used minorities?
All men are potential rapists. So are all women, but the actual is much much higher for men. I don’t blame women for considering that all men could be a threat, but it’s nice to hear that some (probably most) realize that not all men are actually a threat.
And to my fellow men out there, cut out the fucking shit already! I don’t like women looking at me like I’m some sort of creep just because I’m a man, but they have to do that because of you assholes.
My take:
Humans are predatory by nature, an instinct that has been damped down over millennia by the advent of societal living and the mores that have been instilled in us with varying degrees of success. It wasn’t all that long ago that women were fair game and treated as chattel and worse, and it is still that way in some parts of the world. When societal norms and laws are no longer observed, like in a country where warring factions have taken over, people often revert to savagery and predatory behavior.
In ‘civilized’ countries like ours, the echos of that mindset manifest themselves in some men in the form of varying degrees of sexual aggression, from seemingly harmless touches to groping. Non-resistance is taken by these men as permission, and things can escalate. Women are well-advised to slap that shit down immediately.
I would agree with this. It’s the troll hysteria that permeates this board that taints otherwise innocent statements with trolltracks.
For chriasesakes people, trolls don’t play their hand in one post, they build to it by sucking people into their troll, not offending them. If it’s a one post “troll”, it’s the jerk card you want to play, not the troll card. Either way, it doesn’t appear to apply here.
*italics mine)Look-It thinks it’s clever.
Have you visited the Omnibus Troll thread recently?
More Minority Reports from our new poster.
Thelma: Do you still want to defend him?
<Declines the bait>
I was addressing the content of one post. Period.
So, the fact that it’s been whistling since at least its third post (see link in my previous post) has zero bearing?
This thread is rich in The Crazy.
Suit yourself. But it seems rather silly to look at what might seem ambiguous on its own when it doesn’t seem ambiguous in the context of more posts. Plus, some of us had seen other posts before that one, so it was never just “one post”.
One final note: it was “minorities”, not “minority”, above. But like I said… suit yourself.
