Was it their religion that made them strong enough to over power you, or their numbers? We are talking about one on one situations. A situation where one person is harming one other person. In those situations, when there is one “good christian boy”, do you still feel that sort of fear? Do you feel that one guy of about your same size can beat you up with little resistance? That is the world that most women inhabit all the time.
Unless you are saying that it was their christianity that made them stronger than you, then your point is utterly irrelevant.
Because a random man is much stronger than a random woman, and therefore has a massive physical advantage over them. One on one, in a fight between a man and a woman, do you really think that it is reasonable to consider it an even match?
There is a difference between saying that “all men are rapists” and “all men are potential rapists”.
In any situation, regardless of sex, people do threat assessment. Women, with experiences of sexual misconduct directed at them going back to childhood, are going to assess every situation from the perspective that interactions with men carry a risk of sexual misconduct. This can range from a man standing too close so he can look down your shirt, and go all the way up to sexual assault and rape. Throw in the reality that society generally places the burden for guarding her virtue on the woman, and it’s no surprise that women will start from the de facto position that all men have the potential to be rapists. Different factors can lead to adjustments in how a given woman interacts with a given man. Most men will not stay in the potential creeper bucket, but the threat of sexual misconduct is almost always a factor that is running in the back of our minds and has to be considered as we decide on a course of action.
This is NOT the same thing as saying all men are rapists.
I appreciate that men can find this sort of label uncomfortable, however temporary. Imagine living in that world where you have to assess everyone this way. Every elevator is judged before we enter it. The only passenger is a man you don’t know, should you get it? Should you walk between those two SUVs in the dark parking lot, or circle around the long way to our car so you stay in the light? If someone talks to you at the grocery store, is he really interested in arugula or is he trying to find out where you live? Is it safe to take the trash out to the curb alone? Why is that guy stopped on the sidewalk ahead looking at you? On, and on, and on.
I will only fire away with a compliment for you as I feel yours is a rational and reasonable opinion.
