((And can you tell that hope springs eternal? ))
I knew something was up with the (brilliantly???) spliced dialogue. And has to have been the best “Oh my god! They killed —!!” “You bastards!!” ever! (Giant Fireworks Snake & Underpants Gnomes rank right up there, too). They didn’t even try to disguise their meaning. Too bad this episode will never get nominated for an Emmy…
I give the episode a 12 out of 10, because 11 just isn’t enough.
My husband and I just sat here with our mouths hanging open for about the last ten minutes of the show.
Wow!
I do think the eulogy was done very well though.
It was a little weird for me. As I said in the other thread, I’m not a South Park fan, but the crazy press around this episode made me curious. So I felt like I was eavesdropping on somebody else’s fight. That said, it was funny and sad, and when it ended I felt it was a shame that this split happened when the relationship had been beneficial to both of them. (I also felt guilty because it seemed obvious to me that they were going to kill him. ;))

Good calls by both members in a strange way.
Anyone notice the opening includes Cruise or maybe Travolta going into the Closet?
to Cruise.
Tom Cruise & Scientology killed Chef, You Bastards!
Jim
I actually thought it was kind of petty.
Anyone else notice the Simpsons homage (Chef falling down the cliff)?
A proper South Park send-off. Not hilariously funny, but a good episode nonetheless.
At the same time, only Parker and Stone could make a character into a pedophileand have him gruesomely torn apart by a bear and a cougar, and still leave you with the feeling that they were trying to be magnanimous.
That was one of the funniest episodes ever. It was also the only time I’ve ever been bothered by south park because Isaac Hayes was a major part of the show since the beginning and they turned on him just for leaving.
I wondered if some of the voices were real too. I don’t remember Chef ever talking about trying to break locks in earlier episodes.
that was the funniest thing I’ve seen in years. I got the subtleies…why do I seem to be the only one who didn’t think they were even that subtle?
Is this going to be the beginning of a season-long war with Scientology, similar to the war with Mel Gibson they had going last year?
To what subtleties are you referring?
The check is in the mail.
Wow, I’m watching the rerun…
It is disturbing, yet funny…
“Oh, here we go again…”
“Yes, it is way way more retarded.”
So, everything that a man needs to feel better is to be asphyxiated by titties and butts?
Hey, works for me.
Oh.
My.
God.
I am not a huge SP fan, but that was just hysterical. “Fruity little club.” LMAO
Ah, the old “have the character be brainwashed by a pedophilic cult, then return to them, then be burned, impaled, eaten by cougars and bears and return as an evil cyborg” ploy. How many times are TV shows going to do this? I mean, it worked okay with Hoss from Bonanza, it was getting old by the time they did it for Nick Yemana on Barney Miller, it was stretching believability when they used it for Edith Bunker, and by the time they used it for Howard Hesseman on Head of the Class it was officially over. I expected something more original from Stone and Parker, but… c’est la vie.
Well, it could’ve been worse…
“We are Chef of Borg, you will be assimilated, Resistance is Futile, my little crackers”
Man, I thought I’d be cool by posting this first…apparently that 3 hour lag of being on the left coast ruined my scheme.
THIS IS AMAZING!
“My friend joined your club, and now he wants to molest children”
“What? Oh…Yes…that’s what the Super Adventure Club does.”
CHILDREN WHO HAVE NEVER SEEN A WHITE MAN’S ERECT PENIS
Great episode.
Did you notice the Monty Python references?
The investigator with the rag doll asumes the sex positions and demands attention to the class kids like the teacher in The Meaning of Life movie, and I think the very british explorer with the map planning the next crazy expedition is also a reference.
