[stuffy voice] I am aware of the quote. [/stuffy voice]
Actually, not really, but they could be joking, right? If I were to guess whether or not they hate Family Guy based on that interview, I’d say the verdict is still in the air. And considering how “polite” they were in the latest episode, it’s not a stretch to assume their grudge is strictly tongue-in-cheek.
I hope we find out next week. I’m not a fan of Family Guy and I’d be thrilled to see Matt and Trey rip it to shreds.
Jeez, did we all see the same episode? Maybe because Cartman was the only one of the kids who harshed on F.G., and Cartman’s a little fucker, some here figure the episode was obliquely respectful of F.G. I got a distinctly different impression from the mullah’s (or the imam’s or whatever he was) spot-on commentary. I thought the ersatz F.G. non-sequiturs, also completely spot-on, were presented in such a way as to fall even flatter than the experience of actually watching the show, if that’s possible. I thought the episode was a complete dis. Probably my impressions are colored by my own opinion of F.G.!
What has been your strangest celebrity encounter?
TP: I was at an Academy Awards party once, the year after I wore the dress, and Jennifer Lopez came up and shoved me and walked away. Fucking bitch.
Hahaha
According to Comedy Central, the only reason the episode did not rerun was because it was close to the holidays. The episode was not “pulled.” (As mentioned before, it was a conservative group, the Catholic League, which complained- the Catholic Church only sent the network a letter saying they should show more restraint in the future.)
Question for you all: are the kids supposed to be in the fourth or fifth grade now? And isn’t either grade a bit old to still be playing with Big Wheels?
I had a Big Wheel as a young’un and loved it, but I don’t think I rode it much after learning how to ride a tricycle.
I wonder if Matt and Trey haven’t already confronted this, but found it impossible to animate, given that the SP kids all have such short, Fisher-Price Little People-like legs. They really should be on bikes by now, but that might require a major growth spurt.
Then again, if Kermit the Frog can ride a bike, anybody can.
The only thing that killed the Family Guy digs for me was that, they didn’t even seem to try and impersonate the voices of the characters, and a lot of the jokes in the episode seemed to forced.
