I thought this one was a pretty good episode, with Randy’s “Shining”-like obsession with running a Blockbuster Video store. The subplot with Stan trick-or-treating via iPad was okay, but not as funny.
I thought this was the best one this season so far.
As soon as they started driving and the music kicked in, I thought, “Cool, the Shining!” Reminded me of Over Logging when the Grapes of Wrath music started when Randy and family began the trip to ‘Californee.’
Solid episode.
I didn’t really care for this one. It started out funny enough, but I thought towards the end it just started to drag on.
I thought this one was lame. Even the takeoff on The Shining seemed half-hearted. Just Randy rambling around Nicholson-style, and the ghostly counterman, and Randy winding up frozen at the end. They could’ve at least had Stan riding around on a tricycle, or write “G-N-I-R-O-B” on a wall or something.
I had no idea what that one costume several characters had was supposed to be (including Stan when the cop was playing his body). Apparently it was from some meme or fad I am unfamiliar with.
I wish I still had a Blockbuster nearby. The Randys of the world should be applauded for keeping them going.
