South Park: Breast Cancer Episode (spoiler alert)

I recently watched the episode where Wendy finally gets completely pissed at Cartman and wants to kick his ass after school. I’m not sure how old this episode is, but I have to say, it’s the most brilliant SP episode that I’ve seen.

First of all it’s hilarious. Cartman’s strategic maneuvering to get out of the fight while still maintaining his “victory” reminded me a bit of Deathtrap. I don’t usually express much emotion while watching TV, but I laughed loudly the whole time…until I cried. Yup. The speech by the principal to Wendy was so empowering that it literally made me cry. And then the episode ended hilariously with Cartman counter-intuitively happy when the other kids express that his beating couldn’t possibly make them think less of him than they already did.

While I haven’t seen every episode, I have to nominate this one as the best.

It was aired fairly recently, on Oct. 15th, when the second half of season 12 started up. There wasn’t a big thread on it, maybe two replies, which is unusually low for a South Park thread here. I liked it. It didn’t seem to be a favorite with a large number of South Park fans, though.

Have you seen the Ungroundable yet? Watch that, then we’ll talk.

WTH? Also not available, apparently.

Or not. Clicking on it to view took me back to the home page.

I thought it was one of the worst.

I thought it was good, probably in the top quarter of episodes, but nothing terribly special. It pushed the joke a bit too long, but was pretty funny for most of the episode regardless. And Wendy kicking the shit out of Cartman was a nice, delicious surprise (I thought something random was gonna preempt it).

I think what put it over the top for me was the principal’s talk with Wendy. The fact that it made my cry was what really separated it from other episodes. I didn’t expect to be crying when I started watching it. I’ll start watching more South Park again. I took a couple of years off.
