The others? Yeah. Stupid. Also intentionally provoking, in a stupid way - e.g. the infamous bomb-in-the-turban cartoon. I’d like to think that this is because the decent Danish editorial cartoonists just rolled their eyes at the invitation and went on to more interesting projects.

So those were “intentionally provoking in a stupid way”. And this is different from South Park’s usual depictions of Jesus because…?

And have you forgotten the NY Times response to the cartoons? In their column explaining not printing the cartoons, they printed Ofili’s “Holy Virgin Mary”, the painting with closeups of female genitalia and daubed with dung. What if that had been Mohammad instead?

Several Muslims have said that Revolution Muslim has gone so far over the top on numerous occasions that it seems they are deliberately trying to provoke hatred of the Islam religion and its followers.

I have to agree. I think that this group is a shadow group that is deliberately trying to inflame people for reasons unrelated to religious beliefs. I would not be surprised to find that there was a covert connection to an extremist “American Patriot” group. Dick Cheney is probably jealous that he didn’t think of it first.

First of all, it’s YOUR idea that it’s a shadow group, so it’s YOUR responsibility to prove it and eliminate weasel words like “seems” and “I think”. Second, there should be multiple fatwas against this group, right? Can you link to them? But if there are none, WHY NOT?

The group that issued these warnings consists of only 10 to 12 people. Its leader was a college student with no political leanings two or three years ago. I have seen statements from many other Muslim organizations that say they do not agree with them. I have not seen any groups that support Revolution Muslim.

I’m sure there are plenty of groups overseas that carry the same flag but if this turns out to be a stealth trouble-making group… the hell that will follow from all sides.

The South Park Season 14 DVD finally got released. I’ve been waiting for this one ever since 200/201 first aired, in hopes it would shed some light on what really happened.

Unfortunately 200 and 201 are the exact same versions as the ones which first aired. They even have the swearing bleeped, which are uncensored on the rest of the season 14 DVDs.

I’m starting to go back to thinking that the version they aired really is their version and they are just mocking us. I know that is unlikely, but the commentary track really makes me wonder.
