So, what was up with tonight’s episode? I suppose I had better have some filler space in here just in case anyone doesn’t read the [Open Spoilers] message in the title and mouses-over and sees uncensored spoilers.

Should do it, I think.
Ok, so anyway, I got that there was still a lot of Matt and Trey bitching about the Scientology episode being pulled. I also got that they were bashing the censoring of the Muhammad pics from the Danish debacle. OK, fine, I got all of that. I also gather they don’t much like Family Guy. But they seem to like The Simpsons, still.*
Why did they throw in the “Image of Muhammad Censored by Comedy Central.” bit in the finally seen controversial Family Guy episode? Did CC actually censor an image, or are they just bitching some more about having the Scientology ep pulled?
So, in short, was there something I missed, or were they beating a dead horse?
*These two opinions have only further increased my impression of Matt and Trey.
First, you do know this episode is about 3 months old, right? You might be able to search the forums to back then.
Some more information. To summarize: it seems that it was Comedy Central’s decision to prevent a depiction of Mohammed, and that Matt and Trey were miffed about that.
But as the cons-blogs also probably delightedly/disgustedly pointed out, CC had no problem showing JC, GWB & general Americans engaging in a poop-fest. G
They also had no problem showing Muhammed in the “Super Best Friends” episode. I don’t remember any offices getting fire-bombed, or any rioting after that episode. Yes, I’m sure many Muslims complained, but not to the extent of the Danish cartoons because it wasn’t in and of itself offensive. It was just Muhammed, standing there, occasionally breathing fire. His appearance in this episode would have been even less insulting, since he would literally been doing nothing but standing. Not even any fire breathing.
Actually, they shifted Mohammed to the front of the crowd in the opening credits(the last shot, with the whole town in view), so he is actually in the episode.
I love that instead of showing Mohammed, they show Jesus defecating on George W. Bush…and this originally aired the week of Easter.
