I loved the self-referential stuff when Kyle is telling Stan that “We lowered the bar, a long time ago, and now we’re all living in the stink of it all. There’s no going back, Stan.” - then two guys (who look like a bit like Matt and Trey) come by “I don’t know why we were watching that garbage in the first place”
I don’t know who Honey-boo-boo is, but I’ve seen part of something called “Toddlers and Tiaras”, and yeah, like Token said, it was on The Learning Channel.
Her oldest also recently had a baby…so Honey Boo Boo’s mom is 32 and is already a GRANDMOTHER.
Sounds like the biggest trainwreck of a show, and I can see why Matt and Trey determined that because of Honey Boo Boo, the bar is as low as it can get.
His name is James, James Cameron
The bravest pioneer
No budget too steep, no sea too deep
Who’s that?
It’s him, James Cameron
James Cameron explorer of the sea
With a dying thirst to be the first
Could it be? Yeah that’s him!
James Cameron
I loved it too. I’ve been a fan of Cameron since Terminator, so I was glad they only poked, smart, good-natured fun at him. But I was a little disappointed because I thought the climax was going to be a much more direct self-reference. That the bar got lowered on the specific day in 1997 when South Park premiered!
And the Honey Boo Boo thing was just par for the course for them. It’s so obviously and sickeningly horrible just in its own right there’s little to make fun of, you just show it as it is! (I only know about it from clips on The Soup)…
The impersonations of the HBB clan was quite feeble. TLC actually adds subtitles because their accents are so thick that understanding them is difficult. SP really needed to reference that.
HBB is being called the Shirley Temple of our times. Uhuhuhuhuh.
