So that makes me, jab1, CowboyGreg and Catrandom. Plus maybe highlander and melin?

Scoobysnax is going to be in So. CA this weekend. I posted the directions in the “Going to California” thread.

Four? Six? Seven?

Are you a turtle?

Hmm, we are losing people fast. Melin and I would still like to meet with whoever is going to be there. We are trying to figure out what to do with the kids; have to make a phone call in the morning to see if they can hang with some friends that evening. We do expect to be there, though, and look forward to seeing y’all there.

And we also hope to see you all around Opal’s board, where Melin is a moderator. Come check the place out, if you haven’t already. http://fathom.org/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true

Just so you know…I officially cannot make it. :frowning: Y’all have a grand time, and keep me informed of the next party!

Those who are going: Shall we meet out front? In the pub? At a table? I’ll vote for out front.

Are you a turtle?

Well, another So. Cal. get-together has come and gone.

I got to the pub around 16:00. Highlander arrived about 5 minutes later. Next was Melin, around 15 minutes later. Jab1 showed up a few minutes after that. There was some discussion as to whether others might appear, with the speculation being that CowboyGreg may be there. Never did see him, so it was just the four of us.

You guys who couldn’t make it missed some great fish’n’chips! Melin liked the place and said she’d be back. After dinner we wandered over to the park overlooking the ocean and chatted for a long while, then we parambulated along the 3rd St. Promenade. It was about a quarter past eight when we headed our seperate ways.

We’re thinking of having another meeting at another place, perhaps in June.

Are you a turtle?

Um… I did actually show up, around 4:45-ish (unavoidably detained, alas). I stuck my head in the pub and looked around, but saw no familiar faces… waited around for 30 minutes or so, on the off chance I was the first to arrive. Oh, well, see y’all at the next one, perhaps.

At least I got my partner some Bakewell Tarts (which he’s addicted to,) so the trip wasn’t wasted.

A cubicle is just a padded cell without a door.

I definitely want to be there next time! Unfortunately, the IRS owns me until the end of the month.

His hair is as dark as a blackboard,
I wish he was mine, he’s really divine,

Damn, Greg! I looked in the pub! I don’t remember the time exactly, but we must have just missed each other. We were in the restaurant, right next to the front door. We kept looking out of the window to see if you were there.

Oh, well. Next time!

Are you a turtle?

I wasn’t there.
It sounded real cool, I am going to be at the next one, Damnit!
June? Thats so far away, but thats the price I pay for whiling away my time on beautiful waterfalls and hikes that were so beautiful they made me forget heavy packs and wet socks.
yes, jab1 there was snow there, but not soo much. And its melting made the waterfalls that much beautiful. Wow, I highly reccomend Yosemite in the spring, it was worth it. It really was, I had a terrific time.

I am certainly up for the next meeting, I cannot wait.
pat

Yosemite in April? Oh yes…sigh. It’s wonderful in April. Yosemite Falls is just fabulous.

Of course Summer and Fall are also great in Yosemite. Sigh.

If you guys have a LA Doper Soiree in October, let me know. That’s the next time I visiting Home. I try to make it twice a year. (I just got back from a visit a few weeks ago.)

I was thinking of somewhere close to where I live, like Chinatown or Olvera Street.

I love both Chinese food and Mexican food, though not together!

I linked this thread to the homeopathy thread in Cecil’s Columns, which may be the first time a MPSIMS thread has ever been referred to over there!

The reason is that I and Melin found some homeopathic “remedies” for colds and sore throats at the Santa Monica Discovery Channel Store Saturday after dinner. One box of thirty lozenges cost five dollars! Why did I think homeopathic “medicine” is cheaper than allopathic?

Sig Alert!

I’m in for June if you can do it in Pasadena, 'cause I don’t have a car.

I know, how can I live in LA and not have a car? I walk very carefully, and try not to have to go anywhere very far away.

My husband and I are new here, and are always looking for entertaining folk to hang out with.

I meant to be there, I really, really did. But what I did (and this is one of the hazards of living alone) was, um

::hiding face in hands::

I forget all about it.

I remembered on Monday morning, and have been too embarrassed to say anything. Can I come to the next one?

Catrandom :o

::sternly:: Catrandom! You are toast! We WONDERED where you were! Melin kept saying “I’m sure Catrandom said she was going to be here!”

Hey, send either me or Melin an email, would ya? Rebelhar @ aol.com or Melin@fathom.org.

I GUESS we’ll let you come next time. Make sure you go confess that though, huh?

Randy

Considering we four somehow missed seeing Cowboy Greg, I guess we ALL have something embarrassing to confess.

I suggest that we next pick a place that has only ONE entrance. King’s Head has both a restaurant and a pub, with separate entrances, and that’s why our four did not become five.

Anyway, Cat we did miss you. We missed everyone who couldn’t show.

Sig Alert!

I wish I could have been there too. Unfortunately the date chosen was the day before my parents were flying back to Europe, and I had to run some last-minute errands with them. Please don’t hate me, and count me in for next time!
