Is anyone else noticing a surprising number of “born in Arkansas” replies?
As for me: Born in Arkansas, now in Texas (via Louisiana). I guess that makes me southern.
If you retain this sort of information, you’re fully Southern
Southern by birth and damn proud of it. I lived in other parts of the US for 20+ years and I am glad to be home.
Born in Alabama and have lived in Georgia most of my life, with the exception of five years in Hawaii. Currently living in Columbus, but have lived in Newnan, Atlanta, Riverdale and Talulah Falls.

Just a heads-up: the summary file now has entries for all states except Delaware and Mississippi. I can sort of understand the lack of Delaware posts, but Mississippi?

Lots of people who live here also don’t consider it Southern. To a transplanted Canadian, it is very definitely the South.
You may not find anyone from Delaware. That’s because it doesn’t exist.
Well, it is kinda small as states go. And it’s the only one I know of with a round border. I didn’t even know that until a few years ago.
But there are a lot of corporations based there.
I spent years 1 - 16 in Mississippi.
Age 16 to now - Alabama.
Still identify as Alabamian, meaning I get just a little more worked up over the Iron Bowl than the Egg Bowl.
**NinetyWt ** & **Mississippienne ** are MS I believe, but I’ll let them say for sure (I may be misremembering or they may have transplanted out by now).
