Spam threads oddity.

Spam threads today are not being removed as usual. Only the spam post is removed leaving behind the “reported” post as the OP.

Software/policy change? Or someone clicking the wrong button?

As samclem noted, we’re having some database issues. I tried to move some spam posts into our super double secret probation forum and accidentally moved the posts instead of moving the thread.

They are working on fixing the database problems as we speak.

We can’t currently ban anyone. As far as I am aware, nothing else is broken. If you have any problems, please let us know. Also, if you find any more posts like post reports that were accidentally left behind, please report them so that we can put them where they belong.

IIRC, there was once a point where, due to some database problem, it was known in advance that the board would have to roll back to a previous backup, and for the day or two before the rollback occurred, the Powers that Be actually did suspend all of the rules. But of course there’s no trace of it on the boards now, because that was all part of what was rolled back.
