Just the fact we still have spammers proves that false. ![]()
I kind of like doing that too on a good try by the spammer, but I feel a tiny bit guilty and I see the point of not doing so–sort of feeding the trolls, in the sense that when someone sees 2 or more response in the index, he might open it, not be SD-value-enhanced by the witty banter, and give the terrorists a victory by reading their OP dreck.
Unless a mod steps in and says “don’t make fun of the spammers” I suppose the muddle of morality and desire will continue.
Mods? And please decide “…we don’t give a damn as long as the witty banterer has reported it or has seen it is reported, and we don’t give a damn because one of us will moidalize it in the next millisecond and the banterer can die happy at least knowing he has made some small temporary claim to a virtual ontology.”
ETA: :smack: I skipped ecg above in my excitement to post.
Of course, this begs the question of how much value is given to ecg’s stated opinion here to those of “…the position of the mods as SD Policy Goddamnit Sticky-Worthy If You Keep Pissing Us Off.”
On the other hand, I’ve seen so many times in ATMB that mods–to their credit–treat each other as individual actors in such seemingly critical governing decisions.
Plus, I don’t suppose running coach thought that an Obama reelection would lead to a “1,000 years of darkness”.
