Well yeah, but we are talking about movies here. I checked out the site and they don’t list any popular movies that use the line (aside from Blazing Saddles), unless you consider UHF a popular movie.
What I meant was, to me, the origin of the line was always like “Play it again Sam” (incorrect, I know), or “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn” as in the origin was obvious. I thought you were giving me undo credit.
Okay, one more for the weekend:
L4L - 10 A boy hangs himself, then has dinner with his mother.
You never seen The Three Amigos!! I am almost positive that line is in the movie. I would consider TTA and UHF popular. Among who they are popular with is another story.
NYR5 - Needing cash, a man sells shower curtain rings to a teenage girl by pretending they are earings.
z3…an electric iron shorts out causing a dress to be burned with disastrous results.
z4…a gentleman drops his pants in order to take a dump in the snow. When his two companions stop and stare he suggests they should take a sample for scientific purposes.
z5…a group of Frenchmen (and women) are enjoying a picnic when the distant sound of a machine gun causes them to panic.
NDP 25 - A man recuperating from a mental breakdown listens to a composition by Mozart while a guest in his room tells of the piece’s therapeutic effect.
I’m not going to take any guesses on M1-M4 and M6-M7 but, for everyone else, I’ll mention that regular viewers of MST3K should be familiar with these movies.
