Right on, Jabba! Av1 was indeed Fearless.
Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
Neighbors it is, with Tim Kazurinsky punching John Belushi in the stomach!
I have several nobody has guessed at. Any guesses?
HPL 2: An outburst on the part of a young man leads to his death, the death of an employee, and the near deaths of several members of his family.
HPL 3: Two men begin a conversation by discussing a stolen object and end up planning the construction of a house.
HPL 4: A young man saves the lives of several others by allowing himself to be killed.
HPL 5: A man uses lizard tissue to give himself an extra hand and a roving eye, but niether are his.
HPL 6: An octopus causes an atomic explosion.
Severed Ties ?
HPL 4: Platoon?
HPL 3: For some reason this reminds me of Life as a House. Is that it?
HPL … you are correct! NDP 28 is “Treasure of the Sierra Madre”
HPL 6 is “Bride of the Monster” (“He tampered in God’s domain!”)
Yep.
I’m glad I’m not the only one in here who watches B Horror Flicks.
Nope. A lot older then that.
Nice try, but nope. HPL 4 is not a war movie.
HPL: I’m familiar with “Bride of the Monster” mainly because its production was a part of the movie “Ed Wood” and because it was featured on MST 3K (“That’s one unstable octopus.”)
This is a blind guess but is HPL 3 “Frankenstein”?
Here’s a new one:
NDP 29 - Acting like he’s hardly ever breathed fresh air before, a man sticks his head out of a car window into a winter’s night.
Child’s Play 3.
Here are a couple of things, all from the same movie, a late '90s action flick:
-
Someone dodges a bullet in glorious slow motion.
-
A stern-looking, business-suit-clad villain with a strange accent expounds on his plans for his race to feed off humanity for untold eons.
-
One of the main characters makes a tremendous leap between rooftops.
-
There is a drawn-out firefight with some SWAT-clad guys in a room filled with marble pillars.
-
A cool-ass black guy with shades turns to his co-star and says “The world you live in is just a sugar-coated topping. There is another world beneath it – the real world.”
-
At the film’s climax, one of the characters transcends his limitations and becomes something no one’s ever seen before.
-
It’s not The Matrix.
Good luck!
Quick addendum to No. 5: Cool-ass black guy with shades – and a leather trench coat.
Can’t leave out those details.
Just a WAG…is it Spawn?
Nope, not Spawn.
Not a bad guess, though.
Fnoonf, it is Blade
Very good, detop.
Gotta ask, if I may be permitted a slight hijack:
Hasn’t anyone ever wondered at the incredible number of similarities (admittedly superficial ones, but still!) between Blade and The Matrix? And the fact that they’re only about a year apart?
Or am I just being all conspiracy-theory-guy over nothing?
Is HPL 3 “The Maltese Falcon”?
