There’s a marathon of this on Scifi right now…I can’t decide if it is Eureka crossed with Silk Stalkings plus a touch of NCIS, or if it’s just really, really bad. After two eps, I’m leaning towards bad
Interesting mix of actors in it, though. AED from Heroes, Greg Sanders from CSI (interestingly playing basically Greg Sanders, and a gnome.
Anyone seen this? Thoughts? Opinions?
Edit: Good, caught the window. The grumpy black chief just screwed up the words to “I will survive.” I’m going with camp.
Michael Landes embaces his inner cheese so well it’s great. And Danny Woodburn’s over the top antagonism is great. I’ve got it recording on my DVR for it’s wonderful campiness. I wish they’d had more of Navy NCIS’s Pauley Perrette as a blonde.
I didn’t watch this show years ago when it was first on (you probably know it predates Eureka and NCIS) but really regretted that once I heard what it was about. I thought about buying some overseas DVDs of it on eBay, even.
But then they aired the whole series on scifi a couple of months ago. Dodged a bullet by not buying the show, that’s all I can say. It was okay to watch on scifi. Once.
nooot campy enough to be good.
Agreed. After two and a half eps…I may watch a few more.
I remember being mildly amused by it when it was on. But I wouldn’t say it was any good.
I liked it a lot. It was heavy on the sexy. Had fun with the mythology. Hell, it had the very best thong scene ever to air on prime-time network TV (granted, the network was UPN). It was a fun show, I wish it had run for years.
I caught it during its run on UPN. Good entertainment but not enough to really watch a second time around.
Oh come on now. Who hasn’t wanted to whale on a dwarf at one time?
Don’t know if I’d call it pleasantly campy, but certainly an acceptable way to waste 45 minutes.
Carl was a gnome, not a dwarf.
