“I don’t know when the NHL turned into the MLB, but goddammit, I’m sick and fuckin’ tired of these high-scoring NHL affairs.”
When the NHL had 4 teams, there where roughly 100 exceptionally talented hockey players. Now that the league has expanded to 30 teams, they are looking for 800 such players. Just like the pitching in baseball, the goalies have been watered down to fill the bottle
Uh, you guys are aware that scoring in the NHL has been dropping since 95, right? I’m going to assume you just didn’t watch hockey in the 80’s if you think this is high scoring.
Oh, and for the record, I’m a Sens fan. Must be nice to actually know what’s wrong with your team - even if your GM will never do anything about it.
I was really thinking that the ‘high scoring’ comment was in jest. Right now the league is in the middle of a golden age of goaltenders. From 1980 to about 1995 the entire league was in a golden age, but essentially only Lemieux, Messier and Yzerman are left of the scoring end, but the goalies are staying good.
