After watching Hilary Swank in Million Dollar Baby, I took up boxing training. Then I got hooked on the speed bag. It really is addictive.
I recently watched an espn classic show and they had a little of Sugar Ray Robinson hitting the speed bag. He looked great at it. Was he the best.?
I’m wondering if anybody knows Who was (is) the best boxer on the speed bag? have there ever been any contests?
“Best,” at best, is a subjective thing, but IMHO, Sugar Ray Robinson was one of the classiest and best fighters in all respects that i’ve seen over a lot of years. His light-bag work was dazzling. If I had to vote for the best boxer in any weight class, he’d be my #1 choice.
I don’t know what boxer was the best on the speedball, but I think this is some pretty amazing speedbag punching. I’ve never seen a boxer do half of this stuff. I think he is the author of the Speed Bag Bible training program and I don’t think he is a competitive boxer.
