My only minor quibble is that Nick Cage clearly looks like a 60 year old man (notwithstanding the black shoe polish in his hair) which would make him a trifle old to have been a doughboy 15 years earlier.

The draft was expanded to all able-bodied men 18-45 in 1918. So it’s just barely plausible even if they actually went with age 60 as his canonical age in 1933.

I started watching the black and white version and his hair looks much more plausible than in the colour version.

I finished the series and I liked it. I did not recognize Andrew Robinson as the doctor’s assistant! Not to mention that I’ve been bingeing E.R. for the past few months and I didn’t recognize the doctor (Amy Aquino) as the OB-GYN in that show.

Just finished it moments ago. Since it was only released a week ago, is it too early (or too late) for Amazon to announce that they’ve ordered a second season?

Also, while I mostly watched in B&W, I couldn’t resist switching to color whenever I got a chance to see Robbie Robertson’s wardrobe. I wish I could pull off that look.

Haven’t watched it so I am curious if they kept any of the socialist anti-corruption core of the original character or if it’s the softer “PI adventurer” that Marvel has turned the character into.

Everyone and everybody (the mayor, the cops, etc.) are obviously corrupt, but The Spider does not seem to be on a crusade to change that; farthest thing from his mind. He, and moreover even Robertson, even vote to re-elect the mayor (as opposed to the kingpin’s latest candidate).

I have watched a couple of episodes so far and I am enjoying it. I did some flipping between the colour and black and white versions. I have to admit that I am pretty impressed with how good the show looks in both versions. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the season.

I liked it. The plot was kind of meh but the setting was really fun. Nicholas Cage at times seemed like Nicolas Cage doing an imitation of Nicolas Cage doing an impression of Sam Spade but he made a pretty entertaining 1930s Spider-Man. The other actors looked like they were having fun in their roles as well.
