Spoil "That '70s Finale," please

I missed the finale of That '70s Show, so would somebody please spoil it for me?

Thanks.

Nobody knows? And I assume it’s been renewed?

I only caught the last 15-20 minutes and my VCR didn’t tape it. From what I gathered Eric left Donna at the wedding because he thought he was holding her back. Donna however, was planning on doing the same thing. Eric ends up coming back at the very end and tell Donna why he left and it ended all happy and stuff. Though Donna’s dad did come in and present Eric with a bill for the wedding.

Basically, Eric has second thoughts about marrying Donna, so he leaves town without telling anyone what’s up. Everyone is shocked and confused since Eric did not show up to the wedding rehearsal, Donna is devastated that Eric doesn’t want to marry her anymore.

Meanwhile, Kelso is preparing for fatherhood, but Brooke’s mother unexpectedly shows up to bring Brooke back to Chicago with her.

So when Midge comes back to town to console Donna about the non-wedding, she ends up in a love triangle with Bob and Pamela.

In the meantime, Kitty finds Hyde’s birth certificate and it says that his father might not be his real father. According to that birth certificate, Hyde’s REAL father lives in Milwaukee, so they go to Milwaukee with him to see what’s up there.

During that time, Eric returns to Donna to try and explain what happened. He gives excuses and says that “they might be making a big mistake”, and… they cuddle in her bed and that’s that.

Onto next season.

I can give you the short version.
Eric leaves town the day before the wedding without a word to anyone.
Donna is obviously confused and angry, as is everyone else.
Midge (Donna’s mom) comes back to console her daughter.
It looks like Midge and Bob might be getting back together.
Donna (accidentally) pushes Hyde off the water tower, and when he’s in the hospital, Kitty looks at his birth certificate and finds out that his real father is not the deadbeat he was raised with. It is some guy in Milwaukee they’ve never heard of.
Kitty tells Hyde, as well as Red and Jackie, and they all go to Milwaukee together so Hyde can meet him.
Hyde leaves without meeting the guy.
Eric comes back in the middle of the night and apologises to Donna for leaving. She tells him to get in bed and they’ll talk in the morning.
That’s all, I think.

The episode was billed at the Season Finalé, so it looks like the show will be back this fall.

Also, Hyde’s father in Milwaukee looks to be someone who has a nice job and seems to be rich. The office they were waiting in was a real nice office.

Oh, and Fez doesn’t know how to play rock, paper, scissors (or bomb, cockaroach, foot for that mater ;))

So what year is it exactly on the show? 1983?

All I know is they should bring back Eric’s Hot Cousin. Unless of course Britney Daniel is still riding the wave of success from Joe Dirt.

That '70s Show is on the lineup that Fox announced for next year, back again on Wednesdays at 8, I think. However, according to this column from salon.com, next season will likely be the last for the show. That’s the first I’ve heard of it, but my guess is that next year is the last year the kids are on contract and they aren’t interested in re-upping their deals. Especially Ashton. Mr. Demi Moore probably is a bit more costly these days than what he was when he signed his current deal… Besides, it’s currently 1979 on the show, maybe they decided not to venture too far into the '80s afterall.

Oh, and one thing about the finale…not-Laurie made an appearance, her first since they cleaned up the Fez-Laurie marriage subplot early in the season.

I heard recently on the radio that they plan to keep the show in '79. I think it’ll be best if it ends after next season, since the “kids” are getting a little too old to keep playing kids now.

I suspect the final episode will end with Eric saying goodbye to Donna as she heads out to pursue a job opportunity and, hopefully he will be in college.

So, did they decide to stay engaged and just get married later, or is the whole thing off?

We don’t know yet. It ended with them going to sleep in Donna’s bed, saying they’ll figure things out in the morning.
